Flyers Vs Kings - what to do?

Oct. 15th. Second game of the season. Saturday night. What sort of reaction do you think Mike Richards gets? I am assuming he gets a huge ovation with very little boos. Agree? Anyone going?

Agree, especially because Gange will be with him.

Why would anyone boo him?

I expect him to be in the starting lineup and get a standing ovation. He deserves it.

Very few returning Flyers have been booed while coming back with another team. There have been exceptions (Fred Shero who left under possibly duplicitous terms and going to an archrival).

The speculation of Gagne being booed (the Santa Claus reference) was an absolute joke considering his history with the team and the reasons for the trade. He will remain a fan favorite.

Cheers. We only boo based on context. But I wouldn't be surprised to see some boneheads act their parts. Rotten apples, trees, and all that jazz.

I assume Tim P will be booing. Perhaps he can influence some. I hope Richie punches him out cold.

I expect beer bottles and other drinking paraphernalia (bongs etc) to be thrown on the ice

No no...why would people boo him? I wasn't thrilled with his off-ice exploits and last season he was "off" with his play for various reasons but he made way more deposits on this team than withdrawals in his time here. Have to judge him on his body of work and not the recent fall from grace with management etc.

I expect lavy to take off richards head while skating in the warm ups, and for Pronger to break gagne into three peices.

Anything less will be fail in my eyes

And what should they do to Powe? Boil him in oil?

Don't get me started on that peice of ****. I hope he gets boarded by Rinaldo and Sestito at the same time as Pronger performing pronger physics, causing an unbalance in the universe, and making powe's head explode into 40 peices.

This just a bit off topic but doesn't deserve its own thread.

Richards will be in for a bit of cultural shock tonight. He is going to be introduced at the Dodger's game tonight. I expect he won't get a warm fuzzy feeling about LA tonight. Dodger stadium is barely half full this year for a myriad a reasons. A very small percentage of Dodger fans know that hockey is also played in the Staples Center.

Richards will probably get more cheers Oct 15. I expect he'll only get courtesy claps tonight.

One other thing, TSN video on Flyers West: http://watch.tsn.ca/nhl/clip504030#clip504030

Kings fans hating the Flyers confuses me for this reason.

This is probably a situation where the vocal minority will make the 90% of people cheering him look bad. I spoke to people at the blowout sale who are glad he's gone and probably can't wait to boo him. That's where those conversations ended.

i went to gagne's homecoming last year (dollar dog night woot woot) and he got a standing O. i would expect the same for richards especially since gagne will be lining up next to him.

i'm terrified to see what gagne-richards-brown does to us though...

If we're going to be tearing the universe, I hope it's an away game.

If there is anything I learned this off season, it's that Mike Richards doesn't go anywhere where there is very little boos. Although there is very little boos by the time he leaves.
