No way he gets booed. People get booed here when they leave on their own terms, like Werth, or for some other personal reason. Richards didn't ask to leave or visibly force himself out, he'll get a standing ovation, and at the end of his montage video (if they have one) they'll probably show "The Shift." I was at Gagne's return, and no one I saw was being negative. If I go, I shall be cheering for him, hell, might even wear the good ole 18 for a last game.
I wonder if him or Gagne will get the Sucks chant they do when announcing the starting line up lol. Im sure that line will be rolled out first that night and both will be on the ice for the opening face off. Personally if I can get tickets Ill be cheering both of them and booing Jagr if it looks like he sucks

I fully expect Sestito and Rinaldo on the team to start the year and that is the game they will circle on their calendar. Flatten Richards night. If the Flyers were smart, they would invite Gary Bettman to drop the puck, then show him on the big screen each time Richie has the puck. And especially when he is introduced. #18 from the Los Angeles Kings, Mike Richards....flash Gary Bettman on screen.....BOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Take that Richie - Homer and Snider hi-five and snicker. LOL
Richards will be wearing #10, not #18, as Dave Taylor's number is in the rafters. I think that plan has potential Fanatic, it would be difficult for Flyers fans to cheer while Bettman's mug is on the jumbotron. I do think the Kings will roll out a Flyer'd up line of Gagne-Richards-Williams as a starting line that night though.
More importantly, I wonder if Richards will be invited to dinner with some of the Flyers players/management before or after the game. The only issue is that it is very early in the season and both squads should be with themselves building chemistry and comfort with new team-mates.
I am excited for the game so early in the season, two contenders containing players with major beef with eachother, the opposing organization and a lot to prove.

Williams is on the Pens. Also, I just want Shelley/Rinaldo/Sestito to level Richards multiple times
Sorry I read that wrong Jason Williams is on the Pens lol
This...Every team in the NHL would take this Guy in a heartbeat....I still cant believe Richards is not on Philly....You guys did get alot of young talent though....
Justin Williams...you know the oft injured 1st round pick of the Flyers in 2000 that won a Cup in 2006 with Carolina before joining the Kings.
For the sake of the Flyers fans, Ed Snider, the FO, Bryzgalov, the two unlucky defensemen on the ice, coach Laviolette, and that poor poor Coke machine in the locker-room, you don't want to see that sorry excuse of a 4th line anywhere near Gagne-Richards-Brown...unless you enjoy seeing the Shelley-Rinaldo-Sestito combo at -2 in 17 seconds of ice time and a pending Power Play for the Kings following another lost faceoff where Shelley attempts to uppercut Richards, but misses and accidentally trips Jack Johnson (not the musician) with his errant stick.
I'll do exactly what I did at Gagne's first game back last year. I'll stand up, clap like hell, and cheer if he scores, because the organization ****ed up.
This just a bit off topic but doesn't deserve its own thread.
Richards will be in for a bit of cultural shock tonight. He is going to be introduced at the Dodger's game tonight. I expect he won't get a warm fuzzy feeling about LA tonight. Dodger stadium is barely half full this year for a myriad a reasons. A very small percentage of Dodger fans know that hockey is also played in the Staples Center.
Richards will probably get more cheers Oct 15. I expect he'll only get courtesy claps tonight.

He'll probably go out after the game with Gange, Hartnell, Giroux, and Briere and they'll all get tanked
As much as I want to go, this might be a perfect game to sell early in the season, Sat game with Mike Richards and Gagne...I wonder what the general mark-up will be...
I say everyone raises their glass (I guess it's more of a plastic cup or bottle) and takes a drink when they announce Richie.
edit: On a somewhat related note, I gotta say it was awesome and hilarious when Mats Sundin played his first game in Toronto as a Canuck. The crowd booed him whenever he had the puck. Then at one point, they had a little tribute to him. Everyone cheered and gave him a standing O. He took a lap around; waved and showed his appreciation. He even teared up a bit. The refs even took their sweet time starting the game back up out of respect for the moment (and also so he could regain his composure). Then his next shift, as soon as he touched the puck, "BOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!". So ****ing funny.
