I'm to young to see Roy play in a Habs jersey

Always favoured goalies and I grew up to watch Patrick Roy lift the cup so my choice is obvious.
Maybe one day Price would do the same but as of now Roy.

A special honorary fav would be Koivu though. If I wasn't so into goalies, Koivu would have a run for the money for number 1

Watched him play but only the very tail end of his habs career so he didn't have as much of an impact to me as he would if I actually watched him play during his prime. Too bad since I was 'around' during his prime...just wasn't watching hockey at the time...or to be more correct, I was too young to understand hockey

Edit: Sad to think that even in his twilight with the Habs (80-85) he was still generally better than what we have had for the last 'long' while.

I watch hockey since 2001. Kovalev is my choice. Followed by Aaron Downey (no joke).

I must admit, no player had my heart pumping like Kovalev.

That 2007 season was totally unreal

...The 99-01 era was perhaps a bad time for a young fan to really get into the team.

Completely agree with these three players. Ken Dryden would be my all time favorite if I had to choose only one.

Definitely Mats Naslund for me. #2 would be Koivu. After that, it's a tough call, but I'm going to go with a current player who hasn't been mentioned in the thread yet: Plekanec.

Mats Naslund! Koivu a close second. I had lunch with him and we got to talk a lot I had just finished my second battle with Cancer so the talk was a good one. Never got to meet Naslund to the extent I did with Koivu.

Not a Habs fan so i'm sure my opinion don't really matter here but i'd have to say Corson. I was pretty much brainwashed not to cheer for the Habs growing up as all of my family are Leaf fans (I'm an Oilers fan btw), but i remember Corson being one of my favorite players even as a kid. Next to him i'd have to say Gilmour even though he never really contributed much in his short time with the Habs.

I'm a big fan of the '93 Petrov, but my all-time favorite Hab is Paul diPietro! I even went to switzerland, last november, to see him play!

Began watching hockey seriously in 2000-2001, and the Habs became my team (before, I only watched hockey when the Flyers and Lindros were on TV, they were beasts).

Anyway, players who I really liked were Saku, Zednik, Petrov, Gilmour, Komisarek, Souray and Markov. Of all those, Zed was a favorite of mine, was just so strong on his skates, and yeah, he only had one deke, but he was still productive. Just liked the way he entered the offensive zone...

At each major position:

Guy Lafleur
Larry Robinson
Patrick Roy

there are a long list of honourable mentions, but those are the best I've ever seen in their prime.

Lafleur was the biggest star in the game in the late '70's. He was a party lover, drank and was a chain smoker. I'd give him even odds at being traded for a bag of pucks if playing today under Habs management.

From the players I've seen play, Patrick Roy EASILY. Even if I was born before the '86 cup, I believe my name was given because of him...gotta ask my parents for confirmation

But my ultimate fav players have to be Beliveau, awesome player, tremendous personality, he's just genuine.

I have to say if Price and Subban win a Stanley Cup here, they'll have a special place in my heart
