I just knew this kinda crap would happen if we won last night.
Welp, this will make it all four of our franchises that are stuck in the toilet. The Vikings stink out loud, the Wild are improving but it wont be until the regular season until the stench of last year starts to wear off, The Twins management has rectal vision, and that other joke team doesn't even warrant mention by name.
Hey, counting this Twins season, the Wild were the best pro sports team and actually have a future. Wolves MIGHT have a future. The other two teams won't accept that they need to rebuild.

Vikings had a better record. That said, drafting twelfth is still pretty bad.

Basketball doesnt count in my book. That basement dwelling excuse for a team will always be in the toilet!
Sounds like the Vikes are trading a 6th round pick and a conditional 6th rounder in 2013 for McNabb... DO NOT LIKE THE MOVE AT ALL!
I still won't believe it's happening until it's done.
That said, it's not a terrible move. Without the offseason to get acclimated, Ponder wasn't going to be able to start Week 1. We needed someone to hold the reins to let Ponder have a chance to develop a little. A 6th + conditional 6th is pretty damn cheap for a starting QB.

The rumored deal is contingent upon McNabb restructuring his contract, and he's only getting one year.
I think the appeal is solely the fact that Ponder's development isn't going to be threatened by this whole lockout mess and missing offseason. Optimally, I would have liked him to have a chance to spend an entire season as the backup. The Vikes are going to suck this year no matter what, so all I care is that they don't screw up their potential quarterback of the future by throwing him into his first game a touch over a month after his first NFL experience.

Actually I'm fine with it. It's a cheap deal and I don't really have much confidence in a rookie starting on Day 1; especially without an offseason. Either let Ponder learn and then start next year or have him beat out someone like Donovan McNabb and prove he's ready.

I understand a vet is a good thing to have in our situation... It's the fact that it's McNabb that I hate. Almost as bad as keeping T-Jack IMO. (ALMOST, though considering he was benched for Rex Grossman last season... it's not by MUCH!)
