I'm more concerned with the defence and goaltending, especially d. We only have two for the top 4 (and one of them, Gilbert, is just a #4). Smid, Peckham, Barker, Petry, Sutton and Chorney are no more than bottom pairing at the moment. We better hope in hell that at least one of them takes a step up this year. The odds of two of those being top 4 are pretty long.
If a trade was made for a top 2, at least than we'd only have to worry about developing one other. Otherwise, it's going to be another year of leaking goals.
On a side note, while looking through the Oilers roster in 2008, we have this listed

I hope to see a D core like this by 2014.
(Draft Murray in the top 3 this year)
Whitney-Murray
XXXX-Smid
Klefbom-Marincin
Peckham
XXXX - a good, young, physical defender ala Bogosian acquired via trade. Added in with a forward group like this:
Hall-RNH-Eberle
Paajarvi-Pitlick-Hemsky
Smyth-Lander-Hartakainnen
Eager-Belanger-Jones
But for this year, I expect:
Whitney-Gilbert This is a given to start the year, obvious chemistry.
Peckham-Barker Ehh, I'm not sure about this one
Sutton-Smid This makes sense, a physical pair, a couple of stay at homes.
