IF I could vote -

Phillips.

But I have no problem with Hackett, then Phillips

Anybody that has done what this kid has done playing US prep hockey as a sophmore then to follow that up with being the #1 center on a Memorial Cup team at the age of 18, says a ton !!
Having said that comparing goalies to position players is a tough one-I personally feel both he and Hackett should be significantly higher than battling for #6, but thats just my opinion, LOl !
Both IMO, will be impact NHL'ers, I'll go with phillips, Ive just seen him do too much, icing on the cake was Memorial Cup taking cortisone shot to play with AC injury and being best player on ice in national final game

That he has the offensive upside (which we didn't see) to warrant being more than just a 3rd line pivot.

Phillips. Not a hackett fan.

Phillips. I think he is the only prospect left with realistic top 6 scoring line upside. Hackett would be my next choice.

i think larsson is underrated, sure he is a safe bet to play 3rd line but he also has some good intangibles and scoring to have good top 6 upside. during shootouts he just sniped the puck day 1, he also plays a physical game so to me he could be a guy in the top 6 for the wild for a long time to come.

don't get me wrong, love both Phillips and Hackett it was a hard choice, and a nice one to have quality prospects to chose from.

I think a lot of the issue is that we don't see or know much of him here so we rank what we know. He's not Granlund, but we know what Phillips has for potential or how Hackett stands as a prospect.

I went with Larsson due to his more dynamic puck skills, and closer to NHL ready game than Phillips.

I've mentioned before that I value top skating prospects more than goalies simply because of the league wide depth of goalies in general.

Is there a time frame or post count requirement before one can vote? Sorry, I'm sure this gets asked all the time.

Edit...Nevermind. I found the answer elsewhere.

my vote for Phillips
it's Hackett when it's current rank but, potential is my basement about prospects and Phillips is a bit ahead imo.

Phillips...mostly due to my belief (right or wrong) that goaltenders aren't very valuable anymore as a general rule--way too much change-over every year, way too many decent goalies (or former GREAT goalies) seem to be jobless. I'd go with Hackett next but like someone else said I really don't have much of a problem seeing him listed above.

I think it will be interesting to see where Cuma ends up in this ranking. He probably won't be the next defenceman on the list as I think Spurgeon will start getting votes before him, but will Falk also get on the list before the 2008 first round pick?

I think he has to stay healthy for a full year before I vote for him. Well, I guess once we start getting into the teens I might be able to work something in. He still has plenty of time to develop, so hopefully he can recover from all those injuries.

Since I can't bring myself to rank a goalie as a top prospect....I went with Phillips as I think the Wild peg him to be a legitimate top 6 scoring threat down the road.

It's 45 days and 5 posts but if you want to leave your vote in the comments that will still count.

So with the 3 Phillips and 1 Hackett vote from rookie users, there's a tie.

I'll clear it up with a (late) Phillips vote, I haven't been around enough lately to pay attention.

A guy who gets called a "steal" as a late first rounder is worth more to me than a goalie who, while always being solid, has never really gone bananas IMO.

*edit: looks like it's closed, and Hackett won, nevermind.

Hackett "won" the displayed poll, but there's 3 votes from <45 day accounts for Phillips and only one for Hackett making it a tie.

That's a good way to compare. IMO, no way would I swap Phillips for Hackett.
