The additional inch is for good cause... I still think he may grow. He was listed at 6' and 6'1'' before the season started, but looked as tall as Travis Moen and such on the ice during the season.

Can the history repeat?

I expect Eller to end up around 6'2" 210lbs which is pretty damn solid.

Id say the habs in general have a very pro-Eller "bias" if anything. People forget last year he wasnt that far from Hamilton around December-January.

As far as I'm concerned, we keep Gomez around to help Eller and step in if Eller falters. But if Eller has a huge season and shows he's the Habs #2 center....then we can trade Gomez away or put him on the 3rd or 4th line.

We can't get rid of Gomez and sign a centerman with his money because that will hindle Eller's development and reduce his icetime.

We need to see if Eller can step up for sure...and then we can think of ways to get rid of Gomez and who to sign to replace him.

Eller is def gonna be 6'4 220lbs at full maturity

But honestly... can't wait for the season to start. So much awesome news there and there. I think I'm gonna go into cryogenic state until October.

Bump!

During his draft, there was talk about a bumpy shoulder....Ready for the season opener is great but this is got to be a concern. I'm hoping that this was a surgery needed to repair this for good. Anyone have an inside on this?

Hi,

Lars said to the danish media, that this operation was also intended to fix this problem for good. He also says something compareable in the link in the opening thread.

6'2'', as per the Canadiens website (http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/player.htm?id=8474189)

The website always have the players' attributes up-to-date. Plus, compare him to the other players on the ice. Guy's a legit 6'2''.

I just want him to have a great season so he can be ready to center the second line the year after and after Gauthier will trade Gomez

We've been over this. Most players have their height exaggerated, and the Habs as a franchise are no exception.

Wouldn't it be more accurate then in comparing him to other NHLers to list Eller at his taller height?

Only some of the smallest players have their height exaggerated (such as Gionta and St-Louis). That's about it.

This "NHL teams make their players tell hurrrr durr" statement is just a myth. For example, Mike Richards is listed as 6'0'' on some websites, but on the Flyers' official website he's 5'11''. They could've added the inch to the guy, though, no?

You have no proof to your statement. I'm a legit 189cm/6'2.5'' guy, and I can guarantee you that when I first met Travis Moen when he first signed (who's listed as 6'2'' and, by accident, looks as tall as Lars Eller on the ice nowadays), he was as tall as I was. Same deal with Alexandre Picard, which I got to see this season. He's listed at 6'3'' and the addition inch he had over me was visible and legit in real life.

Seems like some people people feel better about themselves, thinking the NHL players as they are listed aren't as tall in reality, obviously having a height complex themselves.

Said height complex could also be causing you to misrepresent yourself at 6'2.5, thus skewing your perspective when seeing players IRL. It works both ways.

You have some learning to do if you really think Gomer is 5'11, Spacek is 6'0 etc..

Oh here we go. You remind of a person who said something like "Why did two 6'0'' and 6'2'' guys show to compare themselves to Jarred Tinordi, while only the majority of the population is 5'9''. That's right, because they aren't that tall."

Oh, here's infact that same post: http://hfboards.com/showpost.php?p=2...4&postcount=23

I agree about Gomez. Guy said himself that he's 5'10'' in an interview. Reason he looks so much smaller on the ice is that he's always bended forward for some reason (just like, for example, Spacek and Byfuglien, just like that off the top of my head).

But since you obviously took Spacek and Gomez through the method of comparing them to other players on the ice, why can't you do the same to Lars Eller?
