I'm a bit surprised at Warren, I actually liked him and thought he could start.

Yeah. Me too. Does that mean BB has someone in sight he wants to bring in (Roth? Jenkins?) or does this spot will be filled from within the organisation?

I don't even know if we have anyone to fill that spot, I think Banta Cain is gone too.

Completely shocked by Warren and Crumpler getting cut. I think Crumpler will be back under a new deal, not sure about Warren though.

One would have to think Ty Warren hasn't recovered from that hip surgery, as his cap hit wasn't crazy. I fully believe Crumpler will be back under a new deal too.

Filed to NFLN: Per a league source, the Jets, for now, are out of the Nnamdi Asomugha sweepstakes.
Could Bill keep trolling the NFL?

Good that (hopefully) the Jets won't be getting him. Let someone else overpay for him though. McCourty, Bodden, Arrington, and Ras-I Dowling are a decent group of CBs.

Asomugha would look awesome in a Pats uniform, but I would still rather make a pitch for a proven pass rusher that might be avaliable.

We cleared $11.2 million in cap space by cutting Banta-Cain, Warren, Crumpler, and Kaczur. The money is there to go get a pass-rusher like Shaun Ellis or Matt Roth, or re-sign Matt Light.

We got Wilfork and Haynesworth for the line, Mayo, Spikes and Cunningham for LB's and Chung, Bodden, McCourty and Meriweather for the backs, I would like to see us add another DE and LB and I think we are good to go.

Not a chance, we got Solder anyway.

If he wants to come back for a reasonable amount, I don't see why not. I like to think you can never really have enough depth on your lines. Without Light, who's on the line? Vollmer-Mankins-Koppen-Connolly-Solder?

Nnamdi to the Eagles, lol @ Jets

I love Philadelphia. Everyone thinks Cliff Lee is going to New York with a smaller chance he goes to Texas, and boom! Philly. Now everyone thinks Nnamdi Asomugha is going to New York with a smaller chance he goes to Texas (well, Dallas), and boom! Philly strikes again. Suck it Yankees. Suck it Jets.

EDIT: I would have liked them less if they did the same thing with Brad Richards (not that he had a chance of going back to Dallas), but whenever they can screw the Jets and Yankees, I'll support them.

Solder's a LT. If we bring back Light, it will be because we don't think Solder will be ready from game 1. Or because he comes at a bargain.

98.5 was reporting all day that a Light deal was close to being done. Unless there have been new developments since around mid day today, they seemed pretty convinced he was gonna be back.

I actually have more respect for him for sticking with it this long. I love Ocho's character. He's got a ton of personality, but doesn't let it get in the way of his game on the field. I can't think of many other NFL players I'd rather have on this team (that we could realistically acquire ) than Ochocinco.

Ian Rapoport was the one who reported a deal was close. I wasn't saying that we wouldn't bring back Light. Just that Solder will either be a LT or Light's backup.

I know he's a LT. I don't really want a rookie with no off-season workouts guarding Brady's blindside.

Then Light will do that and Vollmer will stay on the right. Solder isn't going to play RT. But I'm not as worried about Solder starting at LT from game one as most people are though. Light did it. Kaczur did it (not from game 1, but most of his rookie year). Vollmer did it for a few games his rookie year. I know Solder didn't have an offseason, but he's still better than Nick Kaczur was as a rookie. Young offensive linemen typically do well. If we do bring back Light, I don't think it will take more than a few games for Solder to take over.
