I think that if Gomez maintains his level of suckage, DD might end the season as our 2nd line centre... I could see him becoming a 70-80 pt player at some point.

As a regular line or powerplay?

If regular, who takes the spot on wing, on the second line with Gomez and Gionta?

As an occasional punch.

If you want it as a regular line, put Cole with Gomez and Gionta, and AK with Pleky

who knows, in a few years he could be a superstar... or playing in russia.... it all depends how he holds up 5 on 5 as he gets older.

IMO, DD has multiple 50-55 pts seasons in him... 65-70 pts might be his career year...

I wouldnt be dissappointed if he is a 60 point guy, but I think hes capable of 80
That could also mean that he hadn't had the time to slump, get benched, etc. Not being negative, but you can't extrapolate him to a full season considering how little amount of icetime he had. Remember, Bozak had something like 75 points in 80 games (extrapolated) and y'all were pissed when Leaf fans believed that he'd end up being PPG.

IMO DD = Bozak in terms of maximum pointage.

To go off what he said it's kinda like Reimer. I see alot of Aubin in him if you know what I mean

Desharnais is a great player, and I can see him getting anywhere rom 20-60 points this season depending on ice-time and how well he adapts.

80 points, what are you guys smoking? So that would make him the leading scorer on our team, when was the last time a Hab got 80 points?? He's a 3rd liner that may get 30 points, thats it. Another example of Habs fans over-estimating their players, and yes, I'm a Habs fan for the past 42 years give or take, but Christ, get real guys.

Hey! It's still July dude. Let us dream!

Subnordi: I am not sure. I do know Subban was our leading scorer (or goalscorer?) after January for quite a period of time. Or maybe I misread that stat...

OFF Topic: what do you think of Subban? (since you've been a fan of the Habs for 42 years). Is he not the most exciting player (dman or forward) you've seen in a Habs jersey? (if not please name the others before Subban...and we're talking about players that are entertaining to watch, full of excitment, adrenaline, etc). I have a feeling you will name...Lafleur!

Back to Desharnais:
If given the chance to play with TWO top 6 wingers (one day)...I can see him getting 20-30=50pts or 25-35=60pts (as a #1 or #2 center replacement due to injury...).

Cole - Plekanec - Cammalleri
Pacioretty - Gomez - Gionta
Desharnais/Moen - Eller - A.Kostitsyn
Moen - Desharnais/White? - Darche

Markov - ?Emelin?
Gill/?Spacek? - Subban
?Spacek?/Gill - Gorges
?Weber?
?Diaz?
?Mara?
______ (we need to add a solid #5-6 dman...a minute cruncher...a - for example - poor man's version of Robert Regehr).

Price
Budaj

Let the 2011-2012 season...begin!!
(can't ****** wait!!).

We have a logjam at C now. If there were top-6 injuries then we could put Desharnais in a top-6 role, if only at wing.

To be clear about when I said 80 pts, I said 4-5 years down the road in his prime, not this season. This season I expect 45-50 pts, with a steady increase over the next few years with the potential to get 80.

Damn it. We have too much depth. Whenever I propose a line, people tell me "what about X"?

80pts would put him in the top 10-15 of the league.

70 pts puts him top 25-30.

I love DD, but those expectations are way too high.

I would be very happy with 40-45 pts seasons.

Watch the guy play he is fearless and plays a smart game. The guy is small but he puts up points. He is already better than gomez scoring. I would put him with gionta and max starting the season and leave gomez rot.

It's hard to forecast how many ppoints DD gonna have this year. is he gonna play on the 3rd or 4th line ? Is he gonna play at center or on a wing ?

I have no doubt DD will adapt pretty well to NHL play like he has done at every levels he played before despite his size.

Nathan Gerbe and Tyler Innis from Buffalo are two measuring sticks.

If DD can get around 40 points this year, it's gonna be a huge accomplishment. I expect our two first centermen (Pleks and Gomez) to be way more productive than last season.

Overall, I think DD has more offensive potential than Eller.

I agreed with you until that last part. Are you kidding me?! Eller's not even scratching the surface offensively. Eller is a natural centre who skates very well and has the size and stride to cover lots of ice. Yet he was played wing half the time. When he was brought back to centre he started looking solid.

Anyways, this is about DD. I don't think DD can handle centre higher than the 3rd line. Actually I don't think he can handle centre at all. His game fits so much better on the left wing.

I feel DD's average will be around 40-45 points, he's skilled and a warrior but I don't see him as a top 6 player right now.

DD is creative and he works hard. I believe he can make plays on the wings or the center. If you don't consider sheer hockeywise talent (passing/shooting), he's pretty much the anti-AK.

AK is big. DD is small.
AK is fast. DD needs to work that.
AK kinda gets lazy sometimes. DD works his ass off.
AK seems reluctant to go physical. DD doesn't hesitate.
AK isn't that bright, playwise. DD knows what to do to hurt the other team.
AK can be a defensive liability. DD always knows what to do best.

AK-Eller-DD is, in my book, a dominant 3rd line. It will be feared this year throughout the Eastern Conference.
