I disagree with this. I think the third logo looks pretty good. I mean, it doesn't quite have the simplicity and beauty of a NJD logo for example but it beats the crap out of say, the Anaheim Ducks logo

Maybe it's just me, but I think the Oilers should go simple. I've always liked the script third jerseys, kinda like minnesota's thirds, but obviously in our own colours; I don't have photoshop though.

I hate this jersey and minny's red ones.

I saw go with the Macfarlane or if not that some people posted pics of Jason Smith and Ryan Smyth. I always thought those would be a good third, granted we had them relatively recently but still looks sharp

Here is my design for a third jersey. I designed a new shoulder patch to go along with it.

Doesn't really scream "Oilers" to me..

BTW, how do you make these? I'd like to try it.

I've always loved the Spawn logo, but like others in this thread, I think it's past it's prime.

Would be nice for my hat to have relevance again, though.

I dig it. Would prefer the white-black-orange-black-white bar pattern instead, but that's a solid jersey.

Something that looks like it was conceived when the internet was common-place, please.

Thanks for showing it. The huge contrast between black and white makes the way you have the bottom and cuffs designed look like the arms and bottom are kind of cut off to me. Also, like another poster said, it doesn't look like an Oilers uniform to me.

I think the issue a lot of us had with the Todd McFarlane 3rd Jersey logo, is that it doesn't look like a logo. It looks like a hunk of crappy metal designed by an image comic artist, rather than a top flight graphic designer that knows how to communicate with bold shapes and can capture the essence of the old jersey.
Thanks. It's a high school kid's version of an amorphous kick-ass looking metal thing that's all armour/weapony looking flying through the air but doesn't even look that badass because it's comic bookish. It's a paisley motif stolen from a 1970's carpet, translated into the juvenile "Tang Warrior" look.

As for the "Rigger" patch. Look at it. It's a petroleum industry worker (fine) doing a one-knee slide holding a stick backwards in front of the open end of a giant pipe that's in front of a triangle. The above poster mentioned bold shapes. That's right: Squint your eyes and look at the rigger in terms of form, and there's nothing. Then do the same thing with the Philadelphia Flyers logo. Success.

Do we really need a third jersey? Couldn't we actually have some sanity and stability in our jersey situation for a couple of seasons? What purpose does the third jersey actually serve? Besides bringing more money into the team's coffers, I mean.

That home jersey actually looks kinda cool. Maybe I'll lose the Alberta logo tho.

I think the one in the link might not be the actual '72 jersey, it's a bit later, a bit too orange, and the neck V is wrong.

the team should go full on original, including having Alberta on the backs, instead of the name plates:

Beauty. Yeah, bring it back at least for the 40th. They'd sell a lot of those.

How about a jersey with a salmon on it? I mean, who here doesn't like fresh salmon?

Or maybe a BLT.

I've never met someone who hates BLTs.

BLTs have no relation to oil - salmon (and other fatty fish) have heart friendly fish oils.

Everyone loves BLT's because of the bacon.
