Without a doubt they would ask for Subban right off the bat. Then you better make sure Weber signs long term

Five first rounders, spacek, and other draft picks for Shea Weber?

Sorry, but no.

It's been a long time since Kostsitsyn was worth a 1st rounder. If we sign Weber to an offer sheet, we'd still have to dish out 4 1st rounders, and it would totally be worth it.

Kostitsyn not worth a first rounder?

Oh hey, Dustin Penner got a 1st, a 3rd and a top prospect and Kris Versteeg netted a 1st and a 3rd on trade deadline last year, but Kostitsyn is worth at best what Chris Kelly got at last year's deadline?

Some people overrate 1st rounders and underrate the Habs' players so much, it's hilarious.

NJ have tons of winger but no center !! I'm pretty sure desharnais would be devils second center !! Big deal desharnais was just sign ... I think that if desharnais play on the third or fourth line he will be useless and sorry to say it but he will never be in the bottom 6 in Mtl since Plekanec-gomez and Eller are in front of him so no place for desharnais ... It sad cause I like him but it reality

Um, I didn't explain myself properly. It's been a long time since Kostitsyn is no longer worth a 1st rounder is what I meant. Hence the part with th 4th 1st that would still be worth it by a landmile.

NJ has Zajac, Elias, Josefson who can all play down the middle. Zajac and Josefson are best suited to play C, while Elias is versatile. Frankly, the Devils' center group is at least as good as Montreal's, so I think your logic is lacking on this one.

I agree besides you don't get top flight talent without giving up top flight prospects. You want Weber? Look at Subban...you don't think it's fair? I am sure that the Preds don't think it's fair to give up one of the top young guys in the league for some mid-talent guys.

My final move is signing McCabe to a 1-year deal for second power-play unit

Winchester and Hannan? Trade Spacek to a team looking to get to the cap floor or needing defensive help with leadership.

Cammalleri - Plekanec - Cole
Pacioretty - Gomez - Gionta
Kostitsyn - Eller - Desharnais
Winchester - White - Moen
Darche

Markov - Gorges
Gill - Subban
Hannan - Yemelin
Weber

Price
Budaj

Holy dude, have you followed hockey long? AK is easily worth a 1st rounder.

I can't take you seriously after this, but here's a little message, most 1st rounders don't score 30, 40 or 50 goals, he is easily still worth a 1st round pick.

Sign Drury. He'll fit right in with the Americans we already have on the team. Good at faceoffs. Put him on the fourth line. Hope to hell he finds some of his offensive game. Could be one of the best signings of the off season if he rebounds. I'd give him 1 yr 1M no problem.

I honestly don't care what they do, as long as they don't give up any more assets.

Way too many assets moved out in recent years.

I don't like that Weber is not pencilled in the starting line-up, but I'd be down with that team ANYDAY.

Hannan?

No thanks. Although I'm sure he'd be happy with the party scene in Montreal.

I'd much rather have Spacek than him.

That's what I've heard.

Safe to say there's a reason he's still unsigned either way though. I'd rather watch Emelin and Weber learn how to be everyday d-men than see him in the habs line up at any amount of money.

I dunno if AK is worth a 1st rounder or not. Just when I think I have a good idea of guys trade values a trade comes along that completely confuses the poop outta me.

IMO, I'd feel better if we added just a bit more grit/toughness...better prepared to play those sore-losing-cheating Bruins.

Shane O'Brien (too bad he was signed...and for 1,2mil only?)
Brad Winchester
Scott Hannan? (any gas left in the tank?)

Paul Mara? (cheap two-way contract? $150,000AHL, $450,000 NHL, no?). 20-25 games NHL, mostly against Bruins, Leafs, Flyers...

Other than that...can't wait for the season to begin.

Very curious to see how our Michael Blunden will do...

Wish we had an animal like Carcillo on our AHL team (Bulldogs), and we would just bring him up against a cheating-sore-losing team like the Bruins to keep them honest. Or wish we could go back in time and have 2 modern-day versions of Chris ''knuckles'' Nilan.

There are no modern day Nilan's.

Guys like Carcillo take 5 stupid penalties or just general poor play for every 1 positive impactful thing they'll do in any game. Don't need a player like that at all.

I know...I actually don't want a Chris Simon or a Carcillo or a Downie on our team since they're criminals on ice. But I'm still frustrated at how the Bruins can get away with murder (almost did) and we don't have anyone who can ''police'' them.

I didn't like Laraques...he was just here for the paycheck and was always injured besides not being able to do his job (if not fighting then at least more bodychecking, more grit, etc), but I have to admit...Chara and Lucic were ****ing scared of him. And They didn't take runs at our players while Laraques was in the lineup, but still...Laraques ripped us off. Now that Laraques is gone the Bruins are taking advantage of it. Very obvious.

Anyways...it better not happen this year.
