CB's do get hurt a lot, but at the same time.....that's a lot of cash on d-backs.

If it means Tulloch, then I can deal with losing Samuel.

Yeah, remembered him being released too, so I checked his bio on the eagles hp. Apparently, he spent the end of last season on the eagles practice squad and was re-signed after the season.

So yeah, he's on the roster.

Still, no.
What if it were a 2013 2nd rounder? The Panthers should be better by then, so it wouldn't be almost a late 1st. The Eagles have two 2012 2nd rounders already, anyway.

Tatupu was released by the Seahawks. I'd like to see him here although he was released because he wouldnt take a paycut so that probably won't work out.

I wouldn't take a paycut to play for the Seahawks either. They are years away from serious contention and signing Tavaris Jackson to be compete with Charlie Whitehurst as your starting QB seems like it would set them back more than help them. Neither of those guys is a long term answer.

I'd be more afraid of the surgery he had on both knees. Otherwise I'd like him in Philly.

Tulloch signed 1 year 3.25M with the Lions. Wish we had been more aggressive and acquired him, feel he would be a good fit. Not a great player, but he is what we needed.

He wads released by his former coach, which isn't a good sign. he is not the same player with those injuries. On a low risk deal, sure. But if he wants real money, no thanks.

Honestly, the pick isn't the thing stopping me. It's the fact Dan Connor is included in it.

I wanna bring him home! He grew up in Wallingford, ten minutes from me. Weren't there trade rumors about him last year?

For those of you in the Philly area, any rumors about Tatupu? Was reading a bit of speculation online, but nothing really interesting.

Wow, the media is really taking off with the whole "Dream Team" theme. It was the front page of ESPN.com and NFL.com.

ESPN has turned into TMZSPN. It gets annoying when sports turn to tabloids. Vince Young probably said it was a joke.

I find it pretty funny actually. A lot of great moves, but I don't think they make us the class of the NFL. Eagles still have some big holes.

Asomugha nickel CB

Quote:
“Here’s the thing – you know that, really, a nickel defensive back is really a starter in the NFL,” Castillo said. “There are some teams that don’t even play regular personnel. The Colts, they play the two tight ends, two wideouts and one back – and that extra tight end is a receiver. So you’re playing that nickel the whole game. We have three starters – you need three starters. That’s a great thing.”
From the article it sound like Samuel will remain an Eagle (at least for now) and with Asomugha as the nickel CB Hanson is probably gone.

I can see Asomugha and DRC as the Corners on each side (going with the Eagles moving towards the bump and run) with Samuel switching in and playing zone coverage/covering a 3rd receiver.

I personally have no issue with 3 awesome CB's. It lets us cover the pass so we can come up with all kinds of crazy blitzing schemes.

I can seem them using Samuel as a Safety as well with Nate Allen over the top. I think they will make it work somehow.

I don't get the Miami Heat comparisons either. It's not even close to the same thing. I guess they need whatever reason they can find to continue talking about Lebron.

Having 3 good corners is really the way to go with the way the majority of the league throws the ball. That said I'm not sure the organization will want to have this much money tied up in one position for long. I would have no problem with keeping the 3 if they decide to do that, but they do still have other holes to fill.

I'm honestly still not sold on the defense, outside of the CB position.

The LB situation could be really brutal, but I am happy with Cole and Babin at DE, Jenkins/Patterson/Dixon at DT, and Nate Allen at safety. Hopefully, Jarrett will live up to expectations and the sick secondary and solid line will make up for the lackluster middle of the D.
