Hearing Devils have placed Trent Hunter and Colin White on waivers. Would be prelude to buying them out.
It will probably get merged, but discussion has been dead on this board.

I'd definitely give Hunter or White a shot!

Hunter sucks.

White is still a good player and the Habs should definitely pick him up. Not sure what NJ is thinking by waiving White.

White is still a solid D-man...I'd pick him up, he'd really solidify our defense and give it some great depth.

Maybe we could play white as a Forward and have a White-Leblanc-White line.

Markov-Yemelin
White-Subban
Gill-Gorges
Ex. Spacek-Weber.

Perfect, you can roll all 3 d-pairings against pretty much any line and spread the minutes around.

Love it(on the condition Yemelin has a good transition). White is a great shutdown D man.

Awards:
According to Lou it's "purely budgetary"...still, very strange move. Don't think White has any chance of falling to us though.

white on waivers= 3 mil
white after waivers and buy out = possibly 2 mil or less
(more then likely 1.5 mil per year over 3 years or something along those lines)

Hunter I have no interest in, we are better off playing our younger players giving them the ice time, White is very interesting especially if we would be able to move Spacek

White to Montreal? I would love that

Markov - Gorges
Gill - Subban
White - Emelin

Spacek
Weber
Diaz

I like this defense with a taxi squad of Spacek, Weber and Diaz in case of injuries like last season.

We have over $6,000,000.00 of cap space left!

White has triple digits in hits and blocked shots. At 6'4'' 215 lbs he could be Gill's replacement next year and the next to come.

Is there a problem with his skating? Isn't mobile enough anymore? What gives ?!?!

Lou is in a mood of gift giving?

Adding White would round off our D Corp immensly.

In my opinion, Lou is looking to add cap space (Hunter + White = $5,000,000.00) and I think he is going to make a big move or two before the season starts, this team is getting older (Brodeur too) and I am sure they want to make another run for the cup before they have to rebuild completely.

I wouldn't want Hunter if he volunteered to play for free, no thanks, Colin White would be a solid pickup though.

If Hunter is bought out, i have no prob signing him to a 1 yr min deal

nothing to lose. Good size and had a solid scoring touch

White vs. Hannan? Who would you choose and why?

I definitely don't get this. Isn't New Jersey really thin on defensemen these days?

White wouldn't be bad at all for a 7th D.

Hunter is completely finished, he's absolutely useless now.

K hunter on small cap hit 1 year deal isn't bad. 3rd line guy. White would be solid as well.

What hpnd to Trent Hunter? He used to be the perfect 3rd liner, tough and a nice touch for scoring.
