It is a cool logo. I have no idea what the joke behind the coolata or whatever it is, is? Can anyone shed some light on it?

Love the logo, I said I would wait for the jersey to decide but it seems pretty good now. Just so long as they don't make a stupid jersey the name is not important.

Tim Horton's in Canada has a drink called the Iced Cappuccino, or Ice Cap.

Is it old? Or is it cold? Like ice, as in Ice Cap! Now that's grasping at straws.

Anyway, I like the logo which suprises me considering I still hate the name. I really like that hidden map atop the mountain too. I'll probably never get to see them play but oh well... those of you in St. John's better support this team (and so far you have!).

I like how the name IceCaps came out a day after this picture came out of Newfoundland.

I don't hate the logo Danny and True North came up with but i got to be honest, I really like this one alot better. It's far less cartoonish than the real logo and it actually represents St. John's a little better with Signal Hill presented in the logo.

I have read in several blogs the ownership group did release a trail balloon not having time to do a proper naming contest. While most didn't like the team name, during the past month not one other name earned over 50% of the vote in any poll either... So IceCaps it is....

With the Winnipeg Jets in every poll the Jets won with over 50% of the vote... With some polls the Jets won 3-1... This is not the case with the IceCaps...

For those of you who can't get over the Tim Horton's drink, the term ice cap has been around much longer than that drink...

I'm not sold on the name 100%, however when it was first suggested I HATED it, now I'm warming up to it.. I love the logo, interested to see the jersey and more importantly buy the jerseys. Bottom line is I'm completely jacked to have pro hockey back in my hometown. It's been far to long

This one was made by a local graphic artist, Troy Bimingham. As names would get floated, he would post ideas on a Facebook group. I thought he did some beautiful logos and jersey concepts.

Frankly, who gives a hoot? Very few Texans have ever heard of Tim Horton's, as there are none in Texas... Ice Caps sounds better than Icegators and Icerays... Placing the word ice in front of another name is not new to ice hockey, is it? I also like the iceberg glacier blue color... Beats a blue maple leaf any day...

So why the fuss?
