I'm hoping they let Hamilton and Pitlick develop slowly in OKC. Lander is likely ahead of them and will be on the team in 2012. Smyth should be retained. I'm hoping Hemsky stays too.

Hall-RNH-Hemsky OR Gagner
Paajarvi-Horcoff-Eberle
Smyth-Lander-Hartikainen
Eager-Belanger-Jones/Omark
+1

Whitney-Smid
Peckham-Gilbert
Petry-Barker
Tuebert

DD
khabibulin

There will need to be a decision on Horcoff, Gagner and Hemsky this season. Asset management would seem to indicate Hemsky will be dealt.

However, if Horcoff AND Hemsky have nice starts to the season, it might be worth considering trading Horcoff to a cap floor team. Horcoff's deal goes 6M, 4M, 3M over the next three years. 4.3M average salary with a 5.5M cap hit. A nice 1.5M and 2.5M cap savings in the final two years.

I'm very curious to see how those two Finns we signed turn out, to be honest.

I think a lot of people exclude them from mock lineups simply because we don't know much about them.

They could very well be playing this year or the next for the Oilers.

If that happens would the Oil scouts have to be considered the best in the league?

nabbing a couple guys who have a chance to play in a fourth line role jumps them to number one? I don't think so lol
