Lombardi answers some questions concerning the Doughty negotiations towards the end of his interview clip. Judging from Lombardi's comments and gestures, he doesn't seem too concerned with where the negotiations are going and it seems that both sides are working within a certain range.

I have to say, O'Neal did a good job with that interview.

Panoccio and Carchidi are the writers he was talking about. There are a couple of decent writers in Philly but they're young and will probably turn into *******s as they get older.

Thanks for posting, those were really good interviews!

I was looking at Mike Richards junior stats...on Kitchener the best players were Richards, Derek Roy, Greg Campbell, and....Peter Kanko! Ha.

Also, Kingston traded for a kid named David Clarkson from Belleville....

Also, Steve Eminger and Boris Valabik were teammates of Richards were most of his junior years.

Psst... Kitchener.

And yep, Kanko was Richards' linemate when they won the Memorial Cup in 2003, and he was the most popular Ranger that year.

Whoops, I fixed it, thanks.

Adam Keefe seemed like a high profile guy back then too, I think he and Richie are still friends. He never cracked the show.

Who was the enforcer back then? Clarkson is more of a light heavy...Valabik? Kinkel? Harrison?

Keefe was definitely an enforcer. Not a big guy by any stretch, but all heart and no fear. He'd take on anyone, no matter what size. He started out as more of a grinder/goon and turned himself into a very good PK'er and energy player. He just signed to play in Europe, after bouncing around the AHL/ECHL for a few years.

Kinkel was too afraid to wrinkle his uniform to fight during his time in Kitchener.

Clarkson had a few fights, but mostly guys wanting to shut him up. His mouth was (and still is) in constant motion on the ice.

Valabik took over the fighting when Keefe graduated, and Harrison had quite a few scraps too.

Have a look at the WJC roster Richards was on when he won gold as team captain - and notably who was on that roster that could have been a team captain. Pretty impressive that Richards was selected over the other possibilities.

Big, small, star, or grinder, it doesn't matter to Mike Richards. He doesn't discriminate, all players are equal to Mr. Richards.

That team is absolutely ridiculous lol, you could ice it in the NHL and probably do considerable damage.

I wonder if it would fit under the salary cap with their current cap hits.
Mike Green got cut

That was the best team ever to play for Canada at the WJHC.

I'd guess that the team wouldn't fit under the cap, other than a couple of tweeners like Dawes and Stewart. It'd be a lot of fun to watch though.
