"Goaltender Patrick Lalime needs only a Stanley Cup to be regarded as among the best in the game."
This is a quote from a article on the sens on espn, and I think the comment is very true. The guy is one of the best in the game, but wont get the recognition until he wins a cup. With a cup on his resume, I bet he gets consideration for olympic and world cup teams.
Well, Brodeur should be around for another World Cup and Olympics, and by then, Lalime will be in his early 30's with younger guys like Luongo and Fleury maybe set to takeover the mantle then!!! He might get considered for a back-up role on those upcoming teams, but won't get the starting nod I would think. By the time the World Cup and Olympics after 2006 come around, he might not even be a number 1 in Ottawa with Emery around!!!
