A beer garden event would be great. I couldn't make it for the last one, but a few friends of mine from Queens said it was blast.

As someone who would stay home from high school with a hangnail, I shouldn't really be giving advice, but here goes: Eventually, you might have a job, that won't permit you to take a day off to watch your favorite team. High school, while very useful for dating, playing sports, and planning your weekends, provides the perfect environment for pulling a Ferris Bueller to watch the game. By Monday the 10th, no one will remember that you cut class, and you'll always remember that day. As a parent myself, I'd be disappointed in my kids if they didn't capitalize on such opportunities.

Are you for real? It's a hockey game we're talking about. The first of at least 82 on the season. Unless he's going to fly to Europe to watch it live just DVR it and stay away from ESPN until you get home from school.

I'm grateful for my job for many reasons, and one of those reasons is that I have a TV on the wall next to my desk.

The game is at 1, not noon...

http://www.nhl.com/schedules/2011201...id=nav-sch-sea

I have class on Friday from 11-1250 (back to back 50 mins)

Still deciding whether or not to skip the 2nd class, maybe go for the beginning and leave like 20 mins in...who knows, I'll figure it out and honestly skip the whole day in honor of the NHL season beginning lol

My dad is going to Swede, and leaving me in NY...
And my mom wouldn't let me stay home even if I was half dead, and unable to get out of bed...
so... I'm ****ed

let your mom know that your dad is gone, so you are the man of the house and she needs to respect your authority

Try the ESPN Club at the Boardwalk in Disney. Good spot to watch hockey

My parents are paying $33K to send me to private school. I don't think they want me cutting school so I can watch a game.
