So there goes the Leafs' awful Brett Lebda contract - bought out a year after it was signed. Makes trade look even tougher for Preds.

One of the worst players in the league, I would argue THE worst. Such a bum.

Seeing Lebda on the Leafs' PP drove me insane. I missed many games because of him.

Welp. There goes the Pred's cup.

Who next in line as a favorite to win it all?

That wasn't really about the cap though. Predators want to save money more than anything.

And even though he is no longer a Leaf, the fanbase is still delighted by this.

Exactly. Money is more important to our franchise than Franson. We got better Fransons in the pipeline.

You could have just sent Franson down.

Not surprising, the guy just isn't a capable bottom pairing defenseman.

I wonder if any team will pick him up.

And now apparently the Preds can't buy him out!

Quote:
The "regular period" referred to is the window from June 15 through June 30 when players (such as J.P. Dumont this year) can be bought out of their contract. Since the Preds only had one salary arbitration hearing this summer (you may have heard of it recently), it would appear that they're not allowed a buyout at this point in time.

lol'ed when i read this. The only thing he's got going that i will give credit to is his skating, other than that, almost every aspect of his game is completely abysmal.

I remember when he scored a goal, I thought the world was going to end right at that moment.

bro he's a closet 30/30 defenseman. Nobody has unlocked his secret power yet.

Someone will claim him. He would be a decent depth defenseman on a contending team. The guy is a cup champion and if he was that bad, he wouldn't have been on the Red Wings for 5 years. I think Toronto just expected more of him. I can see him being a 5th or 6th defenseman.
