Nah, his secret power is angering the fans. He's quite good at it.

No offense, but I think if you watched the Leafs all year you wouldn't agree with what you just said. he was something like -3 in a 9-3 win.. haha

Maybe you should watch him rather than look up his stats. He is bad. He is a huge liability. Maybe was better when he was with Detroit, but any player can look good on Detroit.

He's pretty horrid actually. Although he has great straight line speed, he has to be one of the faster players in the NHL.

You're flat out wrong.

Toronto used him on the bottom pairing/2nd PP unit.

The dude was a -18 in his first 20 games as a Leaf. Only 11 times did he play over 15 minutes in a game - and four of those 11 were under 15:30 in the game.

He did not register his first point as a Leaf until December 14. He did not register a + in a game until February 8. He had six games in which he was a + player vs 17 where he was a - player.

He is just as awful as we say he is, perhaps even moreso.

why the check did Nashville make the Trade then?

Franson was a top 4 D-man and an offensive Weapon. Josi and Ellis have some BIG shoes to fill.

also with Bouillon's rehab detour means another replacement. (Whether Ekholm or Laakso I have no idea)

with the Offense lacking in pure goal scorers (i.e. 30-40 goals 75+ points) this puts more pressure on the Defensive side of the game

and with Columbus getting a power boost in Carter it's safe to say we'll have a tougher job winning games in our division

Lebda has an amazing set of wheels, which he utilizes to get out of position much quicker than you'd think possible

Would you sign Franson for 4 million a year? What the Preds did was effectively sign him to a 2 year 4 million per contract and then waive him. From a financial perspective at least.

You can't really be a Preds fan.. First, Franson didn't help our defensive game at all, second he was not a top 4 defenseman at any point with the Predators, third, Blum has already stepped in and replaced Franson.

What happened to him being a serviceable Detroit defenseman.

I think the Red Wings are in for a bit of a shock when Lidstrom retires.

Excellent move by Nashville. They are much better team today, then they were yesterday.

Well, these are unconditional ($125) waivers that he was placed on, not regular waivers for the purpose of re-assignment.
He's either being bought out or unconditionally released.

He must be bought out or it doesn't make sense. He's still signed for another year and it's 1-way. Nashville is paying his $1.4mil even if they keep him in a music studio's washroom.

And I still think they could've gotten rid of Lombardi without getting rid of Franson or at least gotten something better. Burke can be fool at times and a ****ing magician at others.

I would expect a d-man signing, otherwise this ultra thin blueline is going to cost NSH a playoff spot.
