I hear you and I mostly agree, but it's not like Whiteside was gonna take a couple of minutes and work Polanco's guard to try and sub him, or start throwing punches and elbows on the ground. It looks IMO like he didn't really wanna get hit.

Taking someone to the ground is not dumb. Taking someone to the ground in a brawl is dumb. Unlike wrestling, or MMA, the last place you ever want to be when there are multiple opponents is the ground.
I know Lincecum is pitching, but how awesome would a sweep be? I'm happy with the series victory, but it would be amazing to beat their best pitcher and sweep a 4 game series.

I was noticing him also... I'd guess fans over the dugout... Love to know hat Vance was actually doing. Thinking he was just thrilled with the score and his game, so he was playing around and annoying the guy. haha
Well, can't win 'em all. I'm happy with 3 of 4. Oswalt looked didn't look particularly good, but in his first game back I'll give him a pass.
I thought he actually could've done a lot worse. The ump wasn't giving him much of a zone to work with and he did a good job of damage control. 3 runs in 6 innings is a "quality start", right?
