So for some crazy reason, the cup is going to be in Portland, Oregon next week. I'm not really sure why, but whatever. My views are conflicted on this. I'll probably see the cup sometime in my life, but its never going to be this damn convenient to do so. But I don't want to acknowledge the Bruins victory in person if I can avoid it. Thoughts?

I still can't believe the Bruins won the cup. I know they did, but I still can't believe it. "Bruins" and "cup champions" just doesn't sound right at all.

As for your question, I would definitely NOT go. F the Bruins

Really, you're going to hold back from something you "dream" about because "it's the Bruins' this year"? If so, you don't even deserve to see it...

If you want to see the damn Stanley Cup, go see it. The Habs are still engraved on it 24 times, who cares who won it last?

Definitely go see it. I agree with going in a Habs jersey.

Except replace "a little" with "uproariously".

It's just a piece of metal.

If you want to see metal, visit a bridge or something.

QFT. Were engraved 24 times. See the cup, take a picture and move on. I don't know about starting problems but long story short, go with pride.

I had a chance to go to a backyard party where the cup was the guest of honor when the Pens won. I hate the Pens, but i went anyway You should absolutely go. I have some great pictures of me carrying and kissing the cup. Saw and took pictures of old Habs engravings. It was a day to remember.

Edit: forgot to mention that I wore a very visible Habs hat at the party. I thought a full blown jersey was a little much. Although one guy had a Laffs jersey on...

I've been a huge hockey fan since as far as I can remember. I never cared to go see the cup though. I seriously could not care less about seeing it or not. I'd be down to go to the Hockey HoF in TO but otherwise I don't give much crap about it.

I remember my first time seeing the cup, it was pretty cool, some 10 years later, I don't even remember what player or team won the cup that year.

Who cares if Boston won the cup, if next year Florida won the Cup and you had a chance to see it, would you turn it down.

It's not like we lost in game 7 of the SCF, we had no chance at the cup, go see it.

Also in the future, chase your dreams and do what you want to do. Who cares what other pople think, they are your dreams.

Who cares if the majority of a bunch of bitter internet posters don't want you to see it, f em, do it and enjoy it.

It doesn't belong to the Bruins, they're just the titleholders. Heck the teams that win aren't even trusted to hang onto it for a year. Everyone gets a day with it but under close supervision and then it;s back to the bank vault.

How many more years before your path intersects with it while a team you approve of is the most recent engraved on it?

If you don't have anything more interesting or urgent to do, go. Chat with the guy wearing the Mickey Mouse gloves. More accessible and probably has better stories than most of the players do.

Have attended at least a half-dozen Stanley Cup appearances and they've all been well worth it.

I think I would go regardless of which team won it. It is something special because the players work so hard to get to the top of the mountain....and glory is fleeting!

Same here to be honest. If the Habs won it, I'd go to the parade but if it was just a player that lived nearby, I wouldn't care as much.

Was thinking about going when Ryder has it, but the temptation to key his name off would be too much.
