Yes, he never intended hurting the player he punched in the neck from behind.

Moore laid out a legal hit.
Legal hit? LOL
If that was legal, Cooke on Savard was too...
He don't intend to hurt by this form, he only intended to leave a message.

Moore's parents sued Bertuzzi just 3 years ago for Post Traumatic Stress.

Don't you think it's getting a little ridiculous now

Why, would it be ridiculous? Bertuzzi should pay Moore $$$, I don't see what the problem is.

He ruined his life, there should be no debate.

If it was by this, every player except Cindy would be sued today in NHL.

If Moore hit on Naslund was clean...

She would be the miss universe

Name any other player that had his career end by another player in none hockey play? You work your whole life to play in the NHL, you finally get there then a player takes it away in less the a second, yeah you better believe I'm going to get paid.

As for the Naslund hit, what was wrong with it?

Impressive, it only took two pages for this thread to devolve into "bertuzzi is poopy!" "nuh-uh, you're poopy!" arguing.

Depending on his linemates, 50pts isn't a stretch of the imagination. If anyone can get the best out of players, it's the Wings.

I just thought it was ironic seeing someone defend Bertuzzi and saying Moore is trying to ruin his career.

I think he has a 0.000001% of returning to his previous form, seeing as how his previous form was that of one of the most dominant power forwards to ever play the game. In his prime, the guy was an absolute monster. He'll always remain a shadow of his former self.

nah. I'm a Wings fan, annnnd he looks ok. He has good moments, but he's still as moody as ever, and seems to take long stretches of games off. The guy that said he tailed off, i believe is right. He spent a lot of time playing with Zetterberg and either Franzen or Filpulla. I think nearly anyone in the league would break the 40 point barrier with those linemates

Remember 2002 and 2003 Todd Bertuzzi? Yeah, your not getting that again but I was there to relive those years..he was a freight train on skates and had some good hands as well.

Those were good times.

Still has a ton of skill and talent. He'd probably put up 70 points if he got first line minutes every night (not that detroit would do that).

After a few really disappointing season he has found a niche and is playing well. That being said he will never come close to matching his top seasons ever again.

Nope, it's HFboards. I haven't met a single hockey fan that supported or defended what Bertuzzi did.

I think the biggest element to his success in Detroit is simply the fans not caring about the incident. Rather than being Todd "the Moore incident" Bertuzzi, he's just Big Bert. He's enjoying playing hockey, in a city that on multiple occasions has had 20,000 rabid fans chanting his name. Not for a horrible mistake years ago, like he's so used to, but for his play on the ice. I know some people will always hold ill will towards him, wishing the worst, but after he had his name chanted in the first game of the playoffs, you couldn't help but feel happy for him. He's a man who looks like he's been through hell and back. It's a feel good story for Big Bert in the motor city.

I'm expecting the standard 40-45 points from him, with a good 10 or so games where he looks great and 72ish games where he looks useless.

As for the Moore hit, even before Bertuzzi became a Wing, I didn't feel that bad for Moore. Not saying Bertuzzi's hit was justified, it wasn't, but his intetion wasn't there to break his neck, and Moore could have just as easily injured other players the way he was. Don't feel bad for the man, he made more money off the lawsuit then he would ever have being a fringe NHL player.
