What he said....

I'll give it a shot, but I would guess. of the 22 man roster, 6 or so will be right...Trotz keeps us guessing.

Hornqvist-Fisher-Kostitsyn
Bergfors?-Legwand-Erat
Tootoo-Smithson-Spailing
Wilson-O'reilly-Smith
Halischuk

Weber-Suter
Blum-Klein
Josi-Hillen
Laakso

Rinne
Lindback

on D, Weber, Suter, Klein, and Blum are guarenteed spots. Josi, Ellis, Ekholm, Laakso, Boullion (if healthy) and Hillen will fight for 5-7. At this point, it's anyone's guess who gets its. Ellis is in the mix, but far from guarenteed a spot.

Not so fast my friend. These are the PREDS, remember, so before everything's done, it may not be that big of a reach to go:

defenseman-defenseman-defenseman
defenseman-defenseman-defenseman
defenseman-defenseman-defenseman

defenseman-defenseman
defenseman-defenseman
defenseman-defenseman

goalie

Is Bergfors guranteed a spot already over Wilson....he is a project isn't he? His high in goals is only 13 and Wilson is defiled scoring 16

I was wanting to wait till we know for sure what our roster will be opening night. Im expecting a move or two, but heres my shot with current roster.

Kostitsyn-Fisher-Hornqvist
Erat-Legwand-Wilson(Id start Wilson on top 6 but thats just me)
Spaling-Smithson-Tootoo
Bergfors-O'reilly-Halischuk/Geoffrion/Smith/Beck

Weber-Suter
Blum-Klein
Ellis-Josi

Rinne
Lindback

We have so many NHL ready forwards it makes me think were gonna have to make a deal

I think Poile if any other year would go into the season with your projected lineup and let it play out and see who does better in training camp but this year is different because of the big 3. He knows that not only Weber is looking at what he is doing but so is Suter and Rinne and it would be behoove NJ to try and trade Parise before he turns into a rental which the price goes down know that he will be a rental and out

This is pretty much how I see it. Except I'd swap out Ellis for Hillen or Ekholm. Ellis should spent some time in Milwaukee IMO. When Bouillon gets healthy, send Hillen down.

Maybe swap Wilson and Bergfors every now and then. I imagine our first few games will see many different combos

You don't think Ekholm makes it? I know you're a big fan and with the out clause you would think he would have the advantage if it's close.

Ellis could def use some time in the AHL but if we make no moves i think he will stay up. Help boost the pp and play the protected minutes Franson played.

Haha yea im sure we will see a ton of different combos. Trotz likes to play mix n match

I'm debating very much the decision between Ekholm and Josi, but for the PP...I think Josi gets the edge. If Ekholm is close in camp, I think he'd stay awaiting a recall, but if he's an early cut then he'd return. Training camp will make those decisions. I think we're set on D right now...

I only see him being moved if a proven top 3 forward was coming in return. Some kind of package. Poile didnt want to trade Wilson for Kessel. So that says something

I am not surprised actually, he has a lot of potential. I see carter/richards type trade for him to move. I don't think that was the reason why you guys didn't get kessel though.

No one is listing Smith for opening night. The way Poile and Trotz were raving about him, and talked him out of returning to Wisconsin, I thought he was "NHL ready".
