I don't have much faith in Madden rumors. The guy's wrong almost 100% of the time about these sort of things.

It's august. Madden is creating a story. We could certainly use a legit 1st line winger but in no way do the Pens need one. It'll be tough to find that type of player without giving up one of our top 4 D or Staal. I'd like a trade deadline deal for Doan.

Neal is a left winger. Kunitz is a left winger. Tangradi and Sullivan have mostly played left wing.

Notice a pattern there?

I actually wouldn't mind it. But it won't happen. It would be senseless to trade away one of our top 4 defensemen. And Shero added enough winger depth. We don't need another winger.

Chris Kunitz
Pascal Dupuis
James Neal
Steve Sullivan
Matt Cooke
Tyler Kennedy
Craig Adams
Arron Asham
Steve MacIntyre (extra forward/enforcer)

Then we have guys like Dustin Jeffrey, Eric Tangradi etc. Just doesn't make sense, but we'll see.

Ryan Clowe would be perfect. But I don't think PIT would like the cost. Quite likely another serviceable/grinder type.

It's actually quite likely that nothing at all happens.

Mark Madden has also GUARANTEED that Jan Hrdina was getting traded for Danius Zubrus and that Alexei Kovalev was going to sign with the Pens after the lockout. The guy has no inside information when it comes to trades, signings...and really anything outside of what goes on inside a burger king or taco bell.

Calgary would give up Iginla for the right price. If that guy can't score with Crosby then I'd say just stop the search and put him with Kennedy and Asham or somebody because it's never going to happen.

I think id like something around Bourque for Staal. Calgary would have to add but Staal will reach his full potential in Calgary because he will be our best center.

Yeaaaa. It'd be the Pens adding to get Iginla. And only if we can't afford Staal's next contract.

Neal - Crosby - Kennedy/Jeffrey/Sullivan
Kunitz - Staal - Malkin

I am not seeing a hole in the top six

You must be a new bandwagon Penguins fan. Even my grandma knows Staal is the Penguins 3rd line center.

Staal+Tangradi+pick for Iginla.

The Flames get their franchise centerman for the present and future and a very promising power forward. Pens lose some of their strength down the middle but have two 3C capable players in Letestu/Jeffrey and have no need for tangradi with Iginla being the dominant PF that he is.

Actually you must be a new bandwagon fan. The Pens planned on using Staalkin last year.

They have Kunitz and Neal, I think a good pick would be Pavelski, Setoguchi would've been good but hes gone

Pavelski for Tangradi, Letestu and 2nd
