New Jersey (not to be confused with New Jersey)

Just finished my summer project this weekend. A Sharks jersey made out of mail.

Decided on Clowe for now, but might change it to a Murray at some point this season.

For those interested, it's anodized aluminum. There are about 23,000 rings in total and it weighs just about 11 pounds. Altogether (planning and actual construction time) it took about 275 hours.

If anyone wants to get a closer look this season, I'm in section 212 for about half of the games, and will definitely be sporting this.

That looks awesome, but I don't understand "made out of mail".

If you mean in literal terms, it's a chain mail jersey, hence the made of mail. If you meant "why?" then I don't have an answer for you. Other than I want one too...

I'm all for new product but let me guess some out of towner will take a picture of this and submit it to jersey foul won't they?

Of course metalmind you can always take the jersey off and use it as a weapon!

Very nicely done. Outstanding work!

It also looks like an efficient way to remove unsightly back hair.

The rings were anodized pre-assembly, yeah. Hand painting each one after weaving it would have been a bit much.

I was thinking you might be able to airbrush it, not hand paint it, but still I would imagine that would wear pretty quickly.

Very cool man, and if someone tries to lance you, you're safe

Cool - of course you just guaranteed that Clowe will be the next Shark traded to Minnesota.

What's next - Sharks plate and helm?

That's the greatest thing I've ever seen.

We have to get this to Shark Byte. That HAS to be on.
