Robin Olsson?

So im not completely sure what this says, but Oliver Ekman-Larsson tweeted this and it looks like hes saying that we signed Robin Olsson.

Can anyone translate this:

Quote:
hockeyolli Oliver Ekman-larsson:
Ryktas om att Robin Olsson ha signat för Montreal !
From a quick google search, hes a 22 yr old, 5ft 10 defenceman from Sweden.

Anyone heard of him?

if its true we will need to redo the whole prospect list poll as a new challenger comes in.

Never heard of the guy. What's with our current run on Swedish players? We've never been big on Sweden. Christer Rockstrom's influence, perhaps?

Also, I think he's a defenseman. If it's this Robin Olsson:

A rather smallish defenseman with good hockey sense and mobility. Olsson is a capable skater that plays a sound two-way game. Is fairly created offensively with a good passing game.

Too small sample size career to judge anything at all. Looks like a small D-Man AHL project.

I'm glad we're adding more Europeans to this team. I'll take all the Swedes, Finns and Swiss I can get!

He was a teammate of Nichlas Torp at the U-18's for Team Sweden in '07 (his draft year)

How often do other teams sign guys outside the draft compared with us? Seems like we do it quite often. I'm glad to see our guys are taking advantage of the shorter draft rounds (7)

We seem to be doing it a lot more lately, and I'm psyched about it. No risk, possibility of a decent reward. What's not to like?

You answered your own question methinks. It feels like we've looked into the SEL a lot more since he got here.

If it's true, then 48. This list seems up to date & there are already 47 on it. It's that damn Laraque one that's stuck for one more, that some forget.

Does a buyout count against the contract limit? I ignored the Laraque one if so.

The Elite Prospects site is good for such news. Didn't see anything today. Nor do I expect to.

Reason being, these European clubs like to have their rosters set by the end of summer. The exodus of players, to the NHL, usually takes place before mid-July.
