I'm surprised Florida has fallen so far in these votings. They've added a lot of quality players this offseason. I really see them as a cusp team for making the playoffs. I think they're goaltending is what holds them back and realistically has them finish 10th. People are underrating them heavily.

And I don't see the devils making the playoffs. Marty is another year older, Parise's impending UFA status, a lot of young guys, and a new coach. I just dont see it in the cards for the Devils. They killed themselves with that Kovalchuk contract imo.

These new players have to learn and prove they could play with each other. And think about it this way - is Florida better than Montreal? Carolina? Toronto? This poll shows that they are not thought to be so (and personally I agree as well). Thus, 13 - 16 is appropriate for them.

Montreal and Toronto I definitely think they can be better. I think Ward/Staal/Skinner put them ahead of FLA. I know it's a lot of new players but you cant just assume they wont work well together or have such learning curves that it will hold them back for so long. I knock Jovocop all the time because I did not want him near the rangers but the guy is still big and can play a bit. Plus you get Brian Campbell. Add that to Kulikov and company. Not too bad of a defense.

Cats are getting a raw deal. They made a lot of changes this offseason.

I know who their goalie is. They have a good roster in front of him with a lot of depth. I'm not counting them out and I certainly dont think its unrealistic to think they wont be able to acquire a goalie if need be.

Winnipeg is still the same Atlanta team, that Atlanta team was a threat for the 8th seed for a bit last year. Of course, they were playing a bit above their heads, but I don't think they've fallen back that far.

WPG will tank it all the way. They need 1st overall to be in the news. Same with Ottawa for quite different reason as they need to rebuild. That leaves Florida.
