Hank's New Pads

http://www.snyrangersblog.com/2011/0...#disqus_thread

New blue ones.

New white ones

If you look closely, Hank looks like Captain Sweden (as opposed to America) with those SEXY socks and those tight pants

I'm gonna assume he'll wear the Blue's on the road with the white jersey and vice versa, although I'd love to see him go all white and all blue.

Does he change pads every season? LOL.

They're slick, though.

Do not like the dark ones at all... Bring back last year's pads please!

These new pads, especially the more blue ones, look like something Vally would have worn....

I don't care what his pads look like as long as they stop the puck.

Was just thinking the same thing. I thought most Goalies like to keep their gear the same unless it's falling apart and they have no other choice.

Hank likes his pads to be stiff, that's just how he rolls.

Also, pro goalies get about 3-4 years of usage out of their pads in a season.

He'll go thru about 2 or 3 sets a season. The way the new pads are other than the glove they don't have much break in time.

Most goalies don't dominate the game like Hank and earn 6.5 million a year. Hank can buy as many pads as he wants and have them customized however he wants.

I think at Lundy's stage in his career, they just give him the pads.

Hate the blue ones. The white ones are okay but last years were way nicer. Don't think he would use two different sets of pads for home/away. Want to practice in/play in the same pads night in and out to keep them loose and what not. Plus he's probably too superstitious to want to wear two sets; if he has a shutout at home and the plays away the next night, he might want to stick with the same pads. Or if he's on a winning/losing streak in one set. Don't see it.

The blue ones are the same model as last years (one 100) and the white ones are a new model yet to be released. I would assume he won't continue using an older model so the blue ones will never see a game most likely. If he does go for the home and away's he might get some blue ones of the new model though.

Also, the player in that picture is not wearing the typical Rangers pant shell. Just speculating that it could be a hint to the winter classic jersey. Looks a bit like this...

Blues are gross IMO. Much prefer last year's Whites.

But as long as they stop the puck...

EDIT - also blue in first pic really does not match. Potential Heritage or even WC pads???

Yep, just like a polish girl.

Anyways, it is me, or does he always pick patterns that make his pads seem taller than they are? Considering the flack he gets, you think he would go the other way with that.
