Honestly, besides the prestige, and the cute waitresses. Value wise it's not really worth it. I'd much rather save my money and sit in the Club Desjardins seats. The only reason I go is I have relatives who own a luxury suite. So it doesn't cost me anything.

Just went to the bank and after a huge ordeal, I got my credit limit bumped up a bit so that if we end up getting tickets, it doesn't hurt me as much lol

Yeah maybe I'll just do that.

You're lucky though being able to experience that.

There were a few times in my life where I almost got the opportunity to go but it always fell through.

I called in yesterday. I was told to go to the bank so they could remove an alert on my account (about my card being cloned 2 years ago...). This is what happened.

This is what I told my friend on MSN...

Mike . says
Banks
woman: no not approved
me: well, could you find out why? I always pay my credit card on time, I have no bad credit anywhere else, i've had a full time job for years... i mean, i know some people who never had a full time job that have a $4000 limit
her: ok, i'll call visa (...) visa says i need to remove the alert on your account, one sec
me: yeah, I said that before..
her: oh, i don't know how. one sec! (goes to see someone, person says only visa can remove it), (calls visa again) oh, it's because your SIN isn't in the account (I give her my SIN) hmm, still not working, one second (goes to get someone from an office, i follow her into the office)
second woman: just need to confirm all your information in the account, ok... now we'll need your signature here to confirm you'll allow the credit check. (....) and perfect, you're approved it'll take about 24 hours to show up on your account

Depends on the game and seats.

Optimum games will probably set us back more, but I anticipate it'll be somewhere between $35 and $55 a person.

I could be wrong, of course, that's just a guesstimate based on the gray/Molson Ex section that Mike submitted a request for.

My bank did it without asking me first. Just sent a letter of notice.

Wondering what they hope to achieve, i never keep a balance of more than 100$ on the card more than a month. 19% interest rate is just asking me to never use it beside normal conveniences.

They want you to spend and get to the point where you'll end up paying interest?

It's all business.

But I never even use 30% of the available credit. What difference does it make if they raise the max from 8000$ to 10000$?

I like the extra refund / safety features of buying with visa + the points q rewards, so I basically put most of my paycheque on my cc and pay everything from there.

I know it's off topic but I have a friend who is borderline not able to even have a credit card. His dad saved him just prior to being ****ed and even he with a terrible credit score got some ridiculous amount of credit from Bestbuy, they gave him like 9000$ when he only applied for like 2.

These companies will throw credit at you just to get you to **** up

That having been said don't see why CC companies wouldn't do it too.

It's not the credit card companies that gives you credit, it's your bank. This why Visa-Desjardins is a direct competitor of Visa-Royal Bank.

Companies who's main line of business is not financial services (ex: Best Buy) will set up an alternate credit administrative company and make it sell credit-backed securities to investors. The credit income pays regular interest to them, and the company receive an immediate cash flow.

Since the company isn't the one assuming the bad credit risk, they have no incentive to be restrictive about whom they grant credit. They just know they can sell more stuff if they issue more credit.

Investors fuel the company's balance sheet, the clients provide income to the investors.

I'm with TD. I always pay stuff on time and use my card often. They just needed my info updated and it took more than regular customer service to see it, heh.

Anyway...

I'm very lucky, I haven't had to pay for tickets to a Habs game in years. The only negative is I get to sit with a bunch of people that know jack about hockey. Some even bring their laptops and do work while the game is on.
