i get why some will say that havlat is more durable now but im still very reluctant to acquire players who have had injury success for long stretches regardless of that past season or two. when a player is hurt often they dont usually end up recovering 100% and their bodies continue to break down easily. for me its a personal thing after seeing many injury riddled players get signed and go down with big injuries.

playing hurt and being injured are two differnt things. if you are injured you are out of the line up and doing no good. id rather sign a player that gets hurt and is still able to play over a player whos not tough enough to gut out a sore or is often too hurt to even get on the ice. while heatley may have been hurt and played his presence is still better then putting many other sharks out in his place. sure i get the fact that heatley turns the puck over and its a weakness, personally i can live with some of his turnovers. i think the sharks were able to achieve with him in the lineup and knew how to get success out of the team.

i get why the sharks felt they needed speed. if heatley was to be traded i just feel that id rather trade for somebody else. if it was hard to trade heatley due to NTC or finding a team with cap space unload him for havlat and find another suitable trade partner for someone better then havlat.
