If you look around the HF site you would see that there are plenty of similarly aged goalies with comparable nhl experience and more pro experience, too, that are still listed as prospects.
Reimer, Bernier, Enroth, Holtby, Peters to name a few.

See how i could have made that suggestion as a possibility, Im talking goalies here?
None of them played enough games. The only one close is Reimer and he started for about half a season, while Bobrovsky started the whole season. Remember these guys are all behind Quick, Ward, Neuvirth and Varlamov (now Neuvirth and Vokoun), and Ryan Miller. Reimer was behind Gustavsson and Giguere until like halfway through the season. Bob wasn't being blocked by anyone. Also, those are good comparisons of JvR and Voracek. They haven't been playing THAT long, but long enough to not be considered prospects.

What maybe 15-25 more games than one or two of them. But just as or deeper burried now than the others and without other NA experience. Reimer is a locked starter. Its just that Bob is the same age as these other 'prospects' and in the same spot as them as well. The book is out on him too now so hes got a lot of work to do before hes a starter again. I understand the points that you're trying to make but....again, I said only that its possible to still consider him a prospect if some of these other guys are. I still also dont see a definite reason not to either if those guys are, too. He just falls into that general mix of guys that are caught in the balance so to speak.

and JvR and Voracek are terrible comparisons. for one, theyre wingers not goalies. secondly, voracek has 241 games played and has held down a position in the NHL for a few years. Even Jvr has 100 more games played than bob and 2 full seasons. i dont see how 2 wingers with 150 and 240 games are a closer comparison to bob than other goalies who have played only a few handful of games less than him. its odd that you compare them experience-wise.

Ok I agree Voracek isn't that good of a comparison but JvR is. It doesn't matter what position in this case, just how many games are played. If you can't be considered rookie of the year, you can't still be a prospect.
