damn, didn't think he would sign for that cheap.

God damn it.

I would've loved to have him here for one million.

Yeah and so were 28 other GMs. From July 1st until August 13th. Unreal.

Not really. He might not be as good as some posters think, but he's not a bad player, far from it.

At that price, he would have been a great addition to a pretty thin defense.

I'd really like it if someone would just ask PG is he was trying to fill the void left by Hamrlik. I believe in Yemelin, but I'm not confident he's ready for big minutes yet, and Spacek doesn't inspire confidence either, but maybe management feels differently.

No worries, we'll probably shell out a pair of draft picks come mid-season like we always do to make up for a lack of offseason preparation/competence.

What's the point of signing Hannan when the Habs have a perfect 2nd rounder to trade this year?

Gonchar has been offered to all the teams...I'm wondering if a Spacek+prospect/pick vs Gonchar trade would help our team. Gonchar has 2 years left on his contract at 5,5m per...I still think he is a very good D. Markov-Gonchar on the PP would be awesome . What do you guys think?

Also hearing from 3 sources now that Sidney Crosby won't b ready 2 start season. I hope its not true because the NHL needs its best players!

I heard some rumblings that he is having some memory issues still. Though what I heard was that he could sit down and eat, then not remember what he had for dinner. I don't necessarily buy it.. but those are rumblings, hardly validated though.

That happens to me.

On a sidenote, I played hockey and banged my head a couple of times and have trouble remembering things. I wonder if I suffered a concussion. I hope not and even though he hurts us, I hope Crosby is ready.

Scary stuff, I am hearing that his family are asking him to not play, until he is 100% which may not be as close as we all thought it might be...

I hope he takes his time. Even if it means missing the next season. Id rather have him come back 100%. But i guess having this kind of injury means that you'll never be the same. Every time he will be checked and that he takes a while to get up it might be another concussion.

Didn't Mario Tremblay report this earlier this year - for which he was essentially blasted for?
I hope Sidney gets better. What a shame for the NHL if his career is compromised.

I'll always wonder why the Penguins let him play in the next game after the Winter Classic.

Such stupidity.

Zajac was injured during off-ice training Wednesday.

Devils C Travis Zajac had surgery this morning in Winnipeg to repair his left Achilles tendons. Team says he'll miss 8-10 weeks.
Huge blow to the devils. Other sources are claiming three months.

Also, Flyers invite Nylander to their camp....I'm starting to question whether the Flyers will be a good team. Pronger to miss the beginning of the season; Richards, Carter, Powe, Versteeg, Leino all gone. Replaced by Jagr(question mark in terms of how much he will produce), Schenn(question mark), Simmonds(question mark in terms of ceiling, hasn't hit it yet), Voracek.

That's going to hurt the Devils at center that's for sure, + they moved Rolston couple of weeks ago to the Isles. I don't mind them being bad again

Also, as beaker pointed out somewhere else, Achilles tendon injuries can be career altering...combine that with thin center depth from the devils part...it's a recipe for a team that will struggle again.

Again, this post is credited to beaker as they are not my thoughts.

The "big minute" guys are to be Markov PK Gorges and Gill at this point, if Yemelin and Weber show they are ready then they can cut into Gill and Gorges time, so could Spacek if he rebounds to 09-10 level.
