Phoenix

Anyone think its possible to pry Boedker out phoenix. Him and Kadri were linemates in kitchener and maybe they can regain some of that chemistry.

Would

Bozak Gunnarson 3rd round pick for him do it.

Yeah that would do it.

Except chemistry with a prospective 3rd liner for the upcoming season who we're not even sure will make the roster 100% is not a good enough reason to trade for him. They also only played together on a line for 1 year with the Rangers.

So no, I'll pass on Boedker, who isn't even a surefire NHLer and regret even responding because this isn't in the trade proposal thread.

Boeddker hasn't really shown enough to warrant that return.

What has Boedker done to deserve to be that type of player?

I don't see where he'd fit in at all. Unless in the next few years Macarthur leaves and Kulemin is dealt for that all precious number one centre I hear people talking about...

Plus he hasn't really done anything, has he?

Its not what hes done but what he is capable of doing. i think if in the right situation he becomes a 70 point right winger who can put up 30 goals a season

That makes you far more optimistic than any Coyotes fan.

I'd rather have Korpikoski tbh, although he isn't really a prospect anymore. As of right now I value Gunnarson/Bozak more than Boedker. Don't confuse potential with fact.

Ask any Yotes fan and they'll tell you, Mikkel Boedker played admirably in his 30ish games this season. He was mis-handled by Phoenix but still holds a boat-load of potential and he showed glimpses of it this past year. Yotes fans laugh in our face at that proposal.

i agree he is insanely skilled that joke of a franchise just didnt handle him right, he still is young, talented and has good work ethic.... after all it wasnt so long ago many of us were licking our chops to take him 7th overall before we traded up for schenn

Not exempt from waivers, RFA, not a full time NHL player.

How about Bozak and a conditional 2nd. (condition he plays 60+) games this year, or a 3rd. if he is not on the full time roster.

Desjardins estimates that about 40% of the game is captured by Corsi analysis.

Boedker's being severely underrated around here. He's comparable to someone like Colin Wilson (same draft year) who has yet to erupt offensively, yet people are ready and willing to write them off and make unfair proposals for them. Mikkel played a lot better once he was called up from San Antonio for good last season, so there's reason to believe that 2011-2012 will be a coming out party for him. Plus, he's part of a young-and-upcoming core in Phoenix, and they can't exactly afford to deal their talent away so handily. I see the rationale behind the proposal, but I honestly doubt it's something Phoenix would jump at.

These are the key points. It's very risky having a player still developing that can't be freely sent up and down. I hope this is kept in mind while we develop guys like Kadri.

Umm...ya, no that wouldn't do it actually. Phoenix would not even consider that deal for a second.

This is true. I don't think Phoenix will trade him anytime soon unless a young player with potential is going to their side a la Gardiner or Colborne.
