Considering the talent level of our new crop of players...

- Eller
- Desharnais
- Pacioretty
- Palushaj

I'd say its not a given we are done... it might just be a great chance for them to step up and show us what they have and it could actually be a blessing in disguise. I have alot of faith in Desharnais and think he would benefit from the extra ice-time.

Gomez should bounce back especially if Paciorrety plays like he did on call up last year. Add Cole to the mix and we have three good big wingers in Cole, MaxPac, and AK.

It doesn't take away the fact that players have the opportunity to show their worth in a new environment.

Also, Eller has age over Bozak, but in terms of their NHL experience, they are at similar stages, with Bozak having about half a season more experience than Eller. I never said that Bozak was a better player though, I believe everyone knows Eller is the better player however they are both as "unproven" at center at this point in time. Eller shone towards the end of the season and in the playoffs, Bozak has he's best half a season as he burst onto the NHL.

Now for Gomez coming back to form, I only hope he does... I really do.
So Plekanec has a better PPG, and is more durable.

What's your point?

Don't think we'd miss the playoffs no.

We still have a 2nd in 2012 right?

Blomez has shown exactly how much he will step up his game when needed and it is exactly nothing. We would almost definitly miss the playoffs if Pleks is out for 40+ games.

Staal was there for half the year and wasn't as effective defensively as he's been in the past. As for Neal, I wouldn't call him amazing defensively.

Well when Staal wasn't there they had Crosby and Malkin. I never said Neal was amazing defensively. Staal provided for some of the offense they lacked when Crosby and Malkin weren't there and finally Pittsburgs defense is one of the most underrated in the league: Letang, Orpik, Martin, Michalek, Lovejoy, Engelland and Niskanen.

lol a 2nd won't replace a #1C, so yes we'd likely finish half-way down the standings.

Gomez will rise up to the challenge but will fail miserably...

Regarding the leafs comparison sorry no.

Plekanec >>>>> Grabovsky (even if he keeps up 60pt pace)
Gomez??? = Connolly??? (Gomez could not return to form, Connolly could also be injured)
Eller > Bozak (-29 dude, I don't care how bad Toronto was next closest minus was -20 Kessel! Eller was -4 and given a defensive role mostly)

Eller 13th overall pick I put money on this guy over undrafted Bozak. And I'm not saying Bozak is going to bust but I highly doubt he achieves Ellers success. Eller on a defensive team should still be a solid guy. I doubt Bozak surpassed Grabovsky. Eller is a more well rounded player.

And if both Gomer and Connolly perform they're about equal. (To me Gomez performing isn't his 33g season, to me that's an anomaly. 60pt+ is performing, hopefully he can do that. Hopefully Connolly won't be injured)

To conclude the Leafs have **** all on us but if Plek goes down we're still in trouble.

If Lombardi comes back to form we'll have this discussion again.

Nope, Gomez is fine as the number one center. He has played as one for the Habs many times in the last two seasons, and done well.

He played as the number one center in most of the playoff games of 09-10 and was often the most dominant player on the ice. Gomez is the best playoff player we have, I say we are fine if only a single center goes down.

Not sure if serious... especially the "he has played as one for the Habs many times in the last two season, and done well" part.
