Pretty amazing considering it was a fan vote.

Only problem I have with the first 5 is Magic Johnson. I would've voted for Chick, Jerry West, Marcus Allen and Don Drysdale at least before Magic.

Magic belongs in the first group, so do all these guys. Vin and Chick should be in the second group.

Guess my not being a big fan of basketball skews my votes a bit. Here were the 5 I actually voted for:

John Wooden
Wayne Gretzky
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
Sandy Koufax
Jerry West

I always forget that Gretzky played with the Kings for almost 10 years. Always keep thinking it was only for a couple.

You can't go wrong with John Wooden. If there was a limited number of spots I think different people could make an argument for leaving someone off and including another person in their place.

Other locks in my opinion: Jerry West and Sandy Koufax

Wooden was one of the greatest coaches of any sport, and I'm not a fan of UCLA.

I am no fan of UCLA either, but his impact on the game of basketball and on the lives of the people he coached is undeniable. He deserves to be at the top of the list with some type of special distinction.

Deacon Jones should be the first NFL player inducted.

Switch Wooden with Kareem and that's my list too.

Figures none of the panel had him on there.

If the Kings win the Stanley Cup this season the headline on espnla.com will still be something about the NBA lockout.

They weren't meant to be in any particular order.
