If OKT could be on the same ice as Jagr, they'd both collect 700 points. Each.

In the end, we shall just see how well Jagr does. As mentioned, if he does as well as I think he will, all Flyers and Jagr fans will be happy.
You have nothing to apologize for.... but don't expect anyone to be happy when you come back on here and say 'I told you so' again and again all year!

That would be the best scenario ever.

You forgot to add, Jagr also brings the Flyers the long awaited Lord Stanley's Cup.

Its not worse. At least Jagr is one of the best forwards ever, and not some random, obscure player.

I hope he extends his streak of consecutive 70+ point seasons to 16. However I'm predicting 24G 39A 63PTS.

I've been saying Jagr will be a PPG player, play about 70-82 games and put up 75-95 Pts, most think he won't do that.

I'm not arguing my case, just saying how some are saying "he won't do it"

I thought we already covered this.

Most people are saying that it's statistically unlikely that Jagr will do it. They aren't saying it's impossible. There's a huge difference there.

Dude, he hasn't put up numbers like that in the NHL since 2005. Before that, it was 2000. Expecting 2 points a game with 1 on a bad night is completely insane. The only time he might have produced at a rate like that is the 95-96 season.

I don't believe he will get more than 100 Pts but to say the last time he put up numbers like that was 2005 is not true.

In 2006-07 with a bad shoulder (reconstructed) he still put up 96 Pts for 8th in the league.

Players sometimes have bounce back years, Selanne had a resurgence, so why not Jagr?

That's why some are predicting big things for him. For some players, a change of scenery and in Jagr's case time away from the NHL might be his saving grace.

In 1995-96 he did have his best season statistically but in Thread in the History section it was discussed if Crosby's 25 Pts streak is the second best ever after Gretzky and someone showed proof that Jagr (although not a scoring streak) had better stretches than Crosby.

In 1998-99 for instance he averaged 2.11 PPG for a stretch of 20 games.

He has had many stretches in his career in which he averaged 2 PPG for periods of 15-30 games. It wasn't only in 1995-96.

Forget talking about his past though, let's talk about the future and what the Flyers are going to do.

96 points does NOT equal "2 points a game, 1 point on a bad night."

It does in 2006-07.

He was leading the league in points at the half way mark that season (even ahead of Crosby and Thornton), then he hit a long dry spell, and for the last month he caught fire.

He many multipoint games the last quarter of the season.

Sorry, what?

Did math work differently in 2006-2007? He had 96 points in 82 games. Enlighten me, how does that come out to 2 points per game?

You're really reaching here, in your quest to be Jaromir's shining white knight.

Who said he was going to average 2 PPG? Having 2 Pts on some nights, and having 1 Pt on a bad night doesn't mean he will avergae 2 PPG.

I know how to do math very well thank you. 96 Pts does mean he averaged more PPG which means, 2 Pts on some nights, 1 Pt on bad nights.

Anyways not sure why you are arguing with me, I simply defending that bleedorange's comments. I'm not even trying to make Jagr look better in this case.

I like how if he scores 1 point per game, it's considered a bad night.

Is 82 points a bad season? It would certainly be a lot of "bad nights," since we should apparently be expecting a 2ppg clip.

That doesn't work statistically unless Jagr plays badly in 75% of games.

Yes i know that percentage is wrong. Can you be arsed to work it out?
