Bill Meltzer is by far the best writer the Flyers have. Panotch is by far the worst.

Best writer is Bill meltzer. The guy that writes on the flyers homepage is a pretty decent writer. Bill fliechman ( sp)

Bill Meltzer is definitely the best, but he's not really a beat writer. Gormley was probably the best of him.

And this new guy Randy Miller has been with the Phillies for awhile and he is bad. He's also from Pittsburgh and is a big Penguins fan so this should be fun. However he did write 'Harry the K' which was really good.

Gormley was getting ALL the key interviews. He got Snider to talk about Richards trade, he seemed to be the "Flyers choice" to break news. I am not a big fan of the Philly media in general, but truly, most teams "beat writers" are not very good. The local Ottawa beat writers are a national joke (Bruce Garrioach anyone).

To get my hockey news I go:
1. Hfboards. I don't need to hit 10 websites, this place is all I need. Anything "newsworthy" ends up posted and discussed on here. Love it.
2. Bob Mckensie (A true journalist)
3. Bill Meltzer (A detailed hockey analyst that goes beyond)
4. Sarah Baicker (gives the Tim P details without the 20 years of baggage/hate)


Thats about it.

I remember when "The Panotch" called Jason Smith a throw-in forward that doesn't matter when the Flyers traded Pitkanen. I'm pretty sure he said it in the 3rd person and referred to himself as "Panotch"
