Blake Geoffrion grandson of Bernie? Ringing bells?
I figured the habs would go after a relative of a hall of famer before superstars like Maxwell and Carle or the next Subban.
So your comparing a team not drafting the grandson of a hall a famer, to a team drafting the brother of a current player.
Better logic is yes they may be interested, since they did draft SK when AK was already around, but also factor in the fact that SK was a 7th round pick and not a projected 1st like Jordan is.

Ringing bells but still not making any sense. So we have to draft all the offspring of Habs legends, or what? And what does that have to do with drafting Subban's brother(s)?

Think about it for awhile, I am not going to connect the dots for you.

Yes and that worked out so well I think managment is just itching to do it again.

Didn't want to start a thread just for this, but I got a question:
Do you believe the Habs will go out of their way to draft Jordan Subban, by trading prospects and draft picks to move up? Would he even want to play on the same team as his big bro, possibly in his shadow?
I think they should, I have heard interviews where the Subban parents said he looked up to his brother. Also PK has stated that Jordan will be better than him one day so picture a Subban-Subban line up in the future, thats a force to be wreckoned with.

I love how he answers your question with a redundant euphemism.

But... do Jordan shot on the right point, or the left?
All of the brothers sound like good players. To say they are going to be better than PK is setting the bar high and putting a lot of unnecessary pressure on both of them. But, if they are like PK they will have the drive and passion to be good players and NHLers.
Habs needing goaltending depth and liking PK, they may take a chance on drafting the young goalie, you never know.
Any news on where he is slotted to go in the draft as of now?
We have the goaltender of the future ready in Lehner developing in the minors for atleast the next year. We kinda need to draft a goaltender so we are eventually developing someone in the minors once Lehner gets the promotion to the big leagues. Subban works because he is a goaltender we would have to develop in the minors for the next two years before we eventually place him in Binghamton.
Yeah, he's a bit of a wildcard as of now. We had a thread about him (or posts about him in a thread, at any rate) circa the WU-18 tourney on the Prospects board. It was pointed out that he hasn't been in the goaltending business all that long, and he has really developed at an insane pace to go from being a non-entity, to an OHL goalie, to a Team Canada goalie on the world stage. Holes in his game were abundantly evident in the U-18. But at the same time, just being there, and showing as much as he did probably counts as more of a positive in his case. He outplayed the much more highly-touted Tyson Teichmann in Belleville last season. And he is set to take over the #1 job in Belleville for the coming season, as the Bulls traded Teichmann to Erie. So we'll see if his steep development curve continues.
His overall athleticism and current status probably put him in the 2nd/3rd round range. But if he jumps ahead further he could be one of the top-rated goalies for the draft, marching toward the late-1st status. He'd really have to pull off a big jump for that... the "good" goalie prospects (see the Gibsons, Hellberg, Perhonen, Honzik in the last draft) don't seem to jump much out of the 2nd-3rd round anymore, and if anything next summer's draft is going to be deeper than this past one at the other positions, making it even harder for the merely "good" goalie prospects to crack the 1st round.
From the Habs' POV, I'd be all for drafting him (or another good prospect goalie) in the 2nd round, at least. The organization doesn't have junior goalie prospects. You've got 2 more years of junior and 4 years after that in the AHL for them to develop. A couple years as the NHL backup. So that's really 8 years down the road before they might (if you're lucky) be in a position to challenge the #1 guy. Price is young, sure, but in 8 years who knows what will have happened. Drafting a top prospect goalie in the next draft would be a great idea IMHO.
Yeah I'd have to think the Habs are due to draft a "legitimate" goaltending prospect (not a 6-7th rounder or a FA signing) at some point soon. I really thought they'd pick one in the last draft and they didn't, so it's definitely plausible for 2012.
