I'm cool with it. I'm guessing he'll be the 13th forward though. I don't want him to take Parse's spot.

It would have to be either Moreau or Mike Grier

I don't think Grier has played in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Buffalo, I'm pretty sure.

edit: nope.

Imagine it was Mike Peca or something equally insane?

While I'm not completely opposed to this signing, I'd rather have seen us put Bud Holloway there and then pick up a guy like moreau at the trade deadline if we really needed him. Sort of like Washington getting Scott Walker for a 7th last year. I wonder if DL was surprised to see Holloway go to Europe.

I think that was likely the plan, and I think that DL was. Its a hole in the roster he wasn't counting on.

I'm fine with Moreau for third/fourth line duties.

Same here. Maybe on the 4th moreso.

We've got Stoll manning the 3rd, so it would be nice to have a bit of veteran presence on the 4th. He's a bit of a bit body, so that's nice.

I can definitely see him playing on Lewis' wing.

CAP SPACE (23-man roster): $2,543,690

There we have it... your 2011/12 Kings.

When we don't need Westgarth in a game, move Parse to RW and have a 4th line of Moreau-Lewis-Parse.

Loktionov will start the year in Manch and will be the 1st callup in case of injuries

The only thing different I see is Voynov maybe taking Drewiske's spot.

Moreau better feel comfortable playing 40 or so games because Kings are gonna need Westgarth especially starting the season against big teams like the Sabres, Ranger, Flyers and Blues.

Moreau is a left wing more than anything. I have a feeling Moreau takes Parse's fourth line left wing position should we get him. Depends on Parse's defensive play, but I have a feeling he will flounder like Purcell, Boyle, and Moulson did with our system and the top 6 solidified with solid veterans.

I am sure Stoll and Greene's 2cents probably aided the decision making process in this signing as well.

I am fine with this. Oilers fans aren't painting a pretty picture on the trade board, but overall, this is a solid veteran that will be playing likely fourth line duties. Our bottom 6 was getting quite young and shallow of experience. Good signing in my book.

Awards:
He won't contribute that much. Just gives a veteran voice and calming influence to the fourth line. Good idea.
