Good on RDS for doing this. Though, while they are not exactly in competition since they don't show the same thing....great coincidence to see them finally brighting up while they now have a real competitor for the very first time.
Let,s hope that this TVA-RDS competition will bring some more good stuff like AHL and CHL hockey....I'd dream for some NCAA but that's not a dream....that's a fantasy.
Thank god. I couldn't bear another year of BS RIS 'on the fly' coverage. You get 5 minutes a period and Gaston Therrien talking in-between. That's not healthy.

From everything I've heard, these games always give them good ratings.
It's never been up to RDS to determine how many pre-season games they cover. It's the Canadiens organization that determines how many games will air. Every year RDS says that if it was up to them they'd air all the pre-season games. As you point out, they get great ratings from it so it's in their best interest to air as many habs games as possible.
