Read that earlier and I fully agree with Lozo. If this team can stay healthy, ATL division here we come. Although I'd argue Prospal was a bigger loss than Drury

Great read.

I'm really ready for hockey now. I look forward to hopefully a very fun season.

Just wanted to point out, I give credit toanother poster from the Zuccarello thread for posting the link. I just felt it would make a good thread on its own.

On my phone, would you mind posting the probably-a-retard's comment?

HA coming from a Flyers fan... They threw their team down the drain. We are looking better but not good? So we weren't good last year? what a stupid fool

The biggest loss for the Rangers is Chris Drury, who had the final year of his contract bought out this summer
My ass.

Addition by subtraction. I don't think we've lost anyone that will hurt us only because we improved by letting them go and then adding key pieces to the team.

Don't get me wrong, I loved Prospal, but we all know Richards > Prospal. No need to go any further.

I wish Boogaard was still around. I believed he was key to the Rangers success earlier in the season because of his presence. I thought he really intimidated the other teams when he was around.

I really like this optimism:

Quote:
The combination of new veteran talent and emerging youngsters could have the Rangers poised to deliver their first division title since they won the Stanley Cup in 1994.
I know we can make a run for the division, but to start seeing it from the media (?), I like that. This guy Dave Lozo knows what we're about. This is our time to start winning now with our core.

Rupp is better than Boogie, so it is not a loss.

So good to get a natural goal scorer in Brad Richards on the squad.

This wnd other statements lead me to believe that he did not even review the stats, much less watch these players regularly. Maybe he once saw Richards score a nice goal and took him for a scorer.

You're right. He's better all-around, but I'd prefer Boogaard over Rupp to fill the enforcer spot.

Anyway, I'm happy about the Rupp signing. I think it was a great move.

The writer does redeem himself later by acknowledging Richards is a playmaker.

That's really the only thing I felt was off about it.

He listed Dru as a major departure. But honestly, we didn't really have any major departures, so I guess the captain getting bought out could be a key departure. Though, with the way he declined its more addition by subtraction.

I mean at this point I've stopped caring about what the media says because they say the same thing. It's up to BR and Gabby to live up to expectations, now.

I believe the "goal scorer" statement, was not written by Lozo, but by Emily Kaplan.

Richards is a goal scorer by our standards. Rangers usually don't score 30, not since the 90's anyway.

This was a good write up. We as Ranger fans will certainly think it was good due to the fact that it pretty much says what we want to hear!

The whole "goal scorer" thing is ridiculous; Richards is a goal scorer, he is not a sniper, and it is not what he necessarily looks to do first. He is a great puck distributer/passer and that is generally what he looks to do first. But that by no means indicates that he is not a good "goal scorer". 25 goals a year is nothing to sneeze at!

What if I happen to feel the urge to sneeze while reading it? Should I hold it in?
