He sure did.

However, I'm sure he got even more mad when he heard Bjorn Rebney's response to Pavelich - Rebney had no idea who Pavelich was and had never heard of him.

It's too bad Mark can't get over himself, he's got a great thing going with the MFC. If he'd just shut his mouth and continue to put forth a great product he'd gain far more legitimacy, IMO.

More than anything, he just strikes me as someone whose a bad boss and not someone I'd want to work for. He's had success but he takes every business move against him as a personal insult. I like the product MFC puts out but I would be surprised if fighters ever show a lot of loyalty to him with his attitude.

Thread Bump.

There is a fairly solid card on Saturday night, the finals of the 145 tourney is the main event.

Main Card:

Pat Curran vs. Marlon Sandro (featherweight-tourney finale)
Cole Konrad (c) vs. Paul Buentello (heavyweight non-title fight)
Seth Petruzelli vs. Ricco Rodriguez
Juan Barrante vs. Rene Nazare

The main event should be a slugfest, I'm also looking forward to the return of Ricco (is he at 205 finally?).

Bellator is legitimate enough that we should really sticky a Bellator thread for discussion.

As someone who hates stickies on this site I'm against that, but I'm down with keeping this thread alive for sure.

Which shouldn't be a problem, especially when the next season gets rolling. I'm really looking forward to the upcoming 170 tournament, there is a lot of good names in this years' addition.

Wow! People need to check the finish for the Curran/Sandro fight, that was a beauty.

Damn fine card.

Only one fight was a dud.

The rest were money.

Really very good night of fights.

Agreed, great card. The KimboKiller and Curran finishes were awesome.

It didn't seem like Buentello even wanted to be there. Kind of like a number of his recent performances. Dude needs to hang up the gloves. It was good for Konrad to stand up with him for two rounds and get some in-fight experience striking. He's still extremely raw, but I thought he did show some talent. If can learn to land that jab, it will be big for him. It was really quick.

Each and every Konrad fight I've watched has been terrible. I hope someone takes the belt on the big vanilla gorilla soon.

Finally caught the fights tonight, was away for the weekend.

Not much to really add, except that Ricco Rodriguez looked horrendous. He looked slow, fat and tired out there. Too bad.

Awesome KO by Curran, obviously. Kind of a boring fight up until that point, there was not much of anything going on either way IMO.

Kind of a lackluster card, with an awesome ending.

According Bjorn, Curran is a top 5 FW! I guess that makes Joe Warren a top 2????

Step away from the crack-pipe.

Disclaimer: I do like Curran quite a bit and he definitely has the potential to eventually crack the top 5/10 if he ends up in the UFC.

The opening round of what might be their best tournament to date goes Saturday (busy night for the MMA fan).

Location: Atlantic City, New Jersey
Venue: Ceasars Atlantic City
Broadcast: MTV2 and Spike.com

MAIN CARD (MTV2)

Dan Hornbuckle vs. Luis Santos (welterweight-tourney opening round)
Chris Cisneros vs. Ben Saunders (welterweight-tourney opening round)
Chris Lozano vs. Brent Weedman (welterweight-tourney opening round)
Steve Carl vs. Douglas Lima (welterweight-tourney opening round)

I hope Lima can carry his MFC success over to Bellator, he was such a beast in the MFC. The rest of the opening round should be good, Lozano, Hornbuckle and Saunders generally put on exciting fights.

Killa-B should make it back to the big show at some point, I think they rushed him the first time around and gave him some pretty tough competition.

No problem. It's a great time of the year to be a sports fan, we also get the opening weekend of the NFL.

Yeah this is a great sports weekend. I'm going to be out playing hockey all day tomorrow and then lazily settle in for a Saturday night of BC Lions/Bellator/Strikeforce and a long Sunday of NFL.

Solid card. Missed the last two rounds of the main event since my DVR cut it off. Saunders looked good, as did Lima after his early scare.

-Solid for sure, I was very nervous when Lima got floored. You missed 2 pretty good rounds, Lozano took them both for the win (it was a very close back and fourth fight, ALOT of cardio was used).

-Poor Dan Hornbuckle has sure fallen from the top of the prospect mountain, Bellator has not done his career well what-so-ever.

-It was great to see that Pellegrino is making a comeback already (shortest retirement ever?), he should make waves in the Bellator 155 division.

I should've known about Bellator running over the 2 hours and adding extra on my DVR, rookie mistake. Between Bellator, Strikeforce on HDnet, and having a brutal time finding a consistent online stream for Strikeforce it was a bit overwhelming trying to figure out ways to catch every second of MMA.
