waivers

Does anyone know if any of the players that might be (or already have been) sent down to Iowa have to clear waivers and when the waiver wire opens for the season? And will Dallas pickup anyone?

Dallas has done final cuts. I think Oliver and Burnett would have to clear waivers (which they would). Tjarnqvist might. I believe players on entry level contracts do not.

I guess Svoboda is a little vulnerable and he might have some value.

There is no waiver draft in the new CBA.

There's no waiver draft, but players making over $75K in the AHL (meaning mostly guys on 1-way deals) and, possibly, players of a certain age or with a certain level of pro experience must clear waivers when they are sent down and recalled.

Without the complete CBA being released, it's hard to know which players have to clear waivers and which don't, but the only guys that the new rules might affect on the Stars are Lessard, older pros like Oliver and Burnett, anyone on a 1-way they send down (maybe Svoboda?) and possibly Tjärnqvist because of age, because I don't think he has enough experience yet.

Actually GLU the $75K rule is only for players recalled. They can be sent down without having to clear waivers.

Send a message via AIM to Kritter471
And according to a local newspaper writer, that $75,000 doesn't kick in until next season.
