How would you guys rank Jere Karalahti on pure potential? He is one of the most skilled scandinavian d-man I have ever seen when on top of his game. I know he had/has a lot of personal problems though.

/cheers

Imo he is most talented Finnish d-men of all time. He started summer training first time as +30 year old and still was one of the best d-men in Finland. He also had problems with alcohol and drugs.

Yeah i think that Karalahti is one of the best if not the best, think Shea Weber.

Peltonen needs to be in the mix, as well as guys like Ketola and Matti Hagman. On defense it is odd to not see Jutila there.

It's Christian Ruuttu, not Ruutu.

And yeah, Jutila and Matti Hagman must be up there.

I would probably remove Tuomo for now and put O. Jokinen in there somewhere.

Little bit too much NHL bias here. Pre-90s hockey player could earn similar amounts of money in Europe than NHL which is why many of our best played majority of their careers here.

It's pretty confusing. Christian is Ruuttu, Jarkko and tuomo are Ruutu. . So, well done still.

But but. every all star, every hall of fame, on every top list.. there's one fellow and a legend. Called Raimo Helminen. Master of the Saucer Pass. While he has only minor NHL experience, he's the must. IMO You can't talk about Finnish hockey without Raipe. The best way a Canadian could understand his legend here in Finland...

..some say, that in Tampere (Raimo's home town), they've got this chant / song:

Gretzky is Canada's Raimo Helminen,
Raimo Helminen, Raimo Helminen!
Gretzky is Canada's Raimo Helminen,
Raimo Helminen, Raimo Helminen!

(melody: Yellow submarine)
