What do Tigers dream of when they take a little Tiger snooze?

kind of cool, I don't hate it, I honestly would have liked it more if he let his kids design it

I'll go old school with Julie Newmar in a cat suit.

There's meaning behind the Tiger. Surprised nobody saw this yet:

Quote:
“Well it’s Bryz’s idea,” Bergeron told the publication. “The tiger is the emblem of Russia, called the ‘Amur’.”
Also notes that this isn't the final.

ADA inducing mask

The mask is too busy looking and very contrived. I wish he would have gone with something like Hextall's "arrow" mask.

i agree. He should have had the maker use real tiger skin and fur to wrap around the mask. Or maybe he could just hollow out an actual tiger's head and use that. That would be just as intimidatin as an arrow. you dont happen to know anyone on the "inside" with the connections to make this happen do you?

As per "Sovetskiy Sport" that info is not true. Also, this idea has not been confirmed by Bryz, who declined to comment and was surprised that the pictures were posted.

What info is untrue? That a tiger has meaning in Russia? Because that is true.

Unless you're talking about this not being the final product?

First of all, I referenced the article in the Russian news paper " Sovetskiy Sport" and did not offer my personal opinion.

Secondly, IMHO, tiger has a meaning in almost every country. Unless, "Eye of the Tiger" song is about Russia

Secondly, tiger is not an emblem of Russia and is not being called Amur. Tigers live in a relatively small area of Russia in the basin of Amur river, hence the name Amur tiger (simillar to bengal tiger, African elephant etc.) For the rest of Russia it's just an exotic animal. Something like an armdaillo outside of Texas.

And finally, Bryz himself has not confirmed the finality of the product

Yeah, we're definitely not understanding eachother then.

In my post I never said this was the final product. In fact you even quoted me where I said it wasn't. In regards to the Tiger having any kind of meaning to Bryz, you don't think it'd be remotely possible that he'd be referencing the Amur Tiger?

In any case, don't really care much. Was just passing an article along that I saw.

Apparently there is another company making another mask for Bryz, according to Dustin Leed, and here's a sneak peek. Makes a little more sense than Tigers:

Le me preface this by saying that I have not been following this thread and only have really seen the latest posts.

More sense for Philly but not so much for Bryz... other than his being a history buff -- and I believe 'American History' too boot -- Looking at the other goalies having Philly fighters and other Philly images, I can see a pattern... But I really find it quite odd for a player born and raised in another country, one that he at this point plans to go back to upon retirement according to him in an article... Bob had both Russian and American planes as well as Russian and American historic buildings on his... IDK... does a goalie pander to an area or honor his Motherland OR both?

As for the two choices we have seen... I see the We the People on as being too plain and too sedate and being old hat even if never done -- if that makes sense -- while I love the Orange and Black Tiger... being exciting and edgy and maybe having an eye of the tiger feeling. Kinda sorta an Eddy the Eagle feel bout it in more advance style.

EDIT: I would really like to see the rest of this latest mask though... get a good look at the images on the side that appear to be buildings from Philly history.

"plain and sedate" seems to be the popular choice nowadays. Luongo's is plain and sedate is amongst the most popular in the league. I love the Declaration mask personally. If Bryz would like to pay homage to our city's (and country's) history, then by all means!

Its the art museum and the William Penn Building on the sides. Bryz is apparently a big history buff and coming to Philly for the history was something he actually listed as a fun experience and a selling point to come here. I could see him going overboard with PHILADELPHIA history or historical buildings not necessarily US History. I think it is a really cool mask idea and concept and if he has a choice of the 2 I would love to see him pick the newer one that was recently released. Its an original idea and something no other city in the NHL has. It fits his personality and looks bad ass. (Of course I haven't seen the rest of it but from what I can see thats awesome)

I'd like to see what that one looks like from the front. We'll only be seeing the top like that on goal reviews.
