Captain, oh my capatain!

Pronger. Injury-prone and old. Give the Hobbit the "C" already.

I didn't watch a lot of games last season and when I did I was usually only kind of watching, but I feel like people are just suggesting Betts move out of the line up because they want to see a prospect get the spot. I actually do to, just because it is fun to see prospects move up onto the team, and I have hope for Holmstrom. It might make sense to move Betts to a wing, but not to the bench or the AHL.

Read may be ready to play in the NHL, but if anything I think he will start on the 4th line in place of Shelley unless he is amazing in training camp and the pre-season and or one of Talbot or Nodl (if he can play LW) falters.

That is never going to happen.

Shelley, Leighton, Walker. Before the trades I would have said Carter and Powe.

Habs have defensive prospects? Who. They had to sign a free agent to play in the AHL as their 7th last year because their guys (Markov/Georges) got hurt last year and they had noone ready to replace them. P.K. is already in the NHL and the russian they are bringing over is a lock for the top 6.

I think they'd at least strongly consider it; Parenteau is a 2012 UFA and I don't think they intend on resigning him.

Shelley is a waist of a roster spot. Does he have one more year on his contract?

Uh-oh...don't ever mention trading picks around here. Everyone knows it is always better to have a pick than a guy that is already in the NHL...

I think that this is pretty much unanimous. To his credit he seems like a great guy, good locker room prescence, good sense of humor etc. However, when it comes to hockey, he simply does not have what it takes to be anything more than a checking line forward (and a pretty bad one at that). Jody Shelley is teh OP (overpaid).

Trade will never happen between our teams but I'd definitely be interested in Bob.

What would you want from NJ?

If they are not going to resign PA, then they have no use for Nodl either. You can't always balance trades out by simply adding picks to the other side. Unless your willing to lose a first in a deep draft, why would they bother?

Shelley + 5 first rounders for (healthy)Crosby.

They are still not going to accept that.
