No. He will not be ridiculed because there are calculations and this thing called science to back up what he is saying. There is nothing but speculation and paranoia to back up what you are saying. Do you see the difference? Odds are an asteroid, comet or meteor will destroy life on earth way before the sun dies anyway. We're way overdue for an extinction event.

So anyway, I survived the earthquake. Do I get some kind of badge? What achievement did I unlock?

I was on the 2nd story of my home in nj and i was like WTFFFFFF it was really strong in my house for some reason. My guitar fell over in the stand and my monitor almost nosedived, but I fell down stairs and my head went thru the drywall.

Felt it for sure in West Virginia today. Felt it right before my criminal law class began.

That could've been a problem.

I was in a basement in Harlem. The first rumble and shake I thought was a truck. Then that creepy rooooollllllll. The owner of the building came running down and thought it was something I did.

I'm in flushing and felt it. I live in a 100+ year old 4 story building.

I never jumped off the toilet so fast in my life...scared the crap outta me. Literally. I didn't know it was an earthquake at first but I went right into earthquake mode and got right into the doorway. Pants at my ankles and all...lol. I always wanted to see what an earthquake felt like, but that woulda been a f***ed up way to go that's for sure.

Glad it wasn't serious and everyone's ok

I was at the US open in Queens and I felt it. It was honestly a cool feeling lol. Pretty funny how people were overreacting over a 10 second wobble.

I've slept through fireworks shows and the worst of thunderstorms. I can now add this to my resume.

I had an appointment at the ENT this morning to see if he could fix some balance/vertigo issues I've had going on recently. He pulled some gunk out of my ears and I felt pretty good all day, but when the quake hit all I could think was "wtf did that guy do to me!".

Felt the 'quake right before work in my car, out on Long Island in West Babylon. My whole car shook like a 20-30 MPH gust hit it; it certainly was an odd feeling. I'm glad to know that New York wasn't the epicenter, that would've been catastrophic...

Here's a fun fact: Did you guys know that NYC is sitting on top of a fault line?

That's the first thing I thought about--recently read a report that noted that the Indian Point power plant in Westchester is built to withstand a quake of about 6.0--the thinking being that would be the worst that could happen around here (this is a very old area, from a geological point of view).

Didn't feel this one though.
