Brandon Dubinsky's Knicks connections

Brandon Dubinsky is engaged to Brenna McGuire. Her grandfather is Al McGuire. Great-uncle is Dick McGuire who has his number retired at the Garden

Quote:
It was lonely at first, but soon she had a circle of female friends who had also gone to Virginia. One night, before her big break with Wilhelmina, she was out with her pals and one of them was dating a guy who brought along his best friend Dubinsky.

His name meant nothing to McGuire, who didn't follow hockey. And her name meant nothing to Dubinsky, not yet aware her clan is royalty at his place of employment.

These days, she's learning hockey and he's learning her family tree.

"I like to tell Brandon, 'Dick McGuire's banner is right there, looking down on you,' " she says.

Her grandfather and great-uncle are among Garden greats whose photos line the hallway leading to the locker rooms. "I see them every time I take the ice," Dubinsky says. "The McGuires are everywhere around here."

They're getting married in June.

Brenna McGuire's father played 1 year for the Knicks. Barely played. 2 games. 10 minutes.

The cover of SI when he played for Marquette.

She's a hottie and seems to be an all-around great gal. Kudos to Brandon.

I say we use this connection to work a deal with the Knicks. We send Dubi over to the Knicks and get Amare on the Rangers

Amare is available this winter since there won't be a NBA season.

With no NBA pre-season, the Rangers-Leafs game on 10/27 will be the first event at the new MSG. The Knicks have a game scheduled for earlier that week. October 24 I think.

It's either Amare or Landry. We can't have both. Amare could be that 1st line powerforward LW we need, but Landry could be a great power play QB. Tough decisions we have to make...

This was probably Dolan to Richards:

"It's great to have you here, a star to center Amare and Carmelo. You'll definitely fit in and help field goal %."
The awkward moment he plays in the NHL

They'll find in the contract that Richards actually was signed as a Knicks player and is ineligible to play for the Rangers.

Anthony is a defensive liability though, we need a strong forechecker who can also backcheck very well, Amare fits the bill.

She's a hottie. A model! Nice job, Brandon!

Hopefully this girl won't be like Jessica Simpson and curse the team she cheers for...
