I hope that the Jets recieving corps plays as well as they look during the regular season. I think that Plax is going to play a huge part in the offense, especially in the red zone. Love the fact that we finally have a legit red zone threat

Plax is sick in the red zone, but personnel has not been the problem in the red zone for the Jets. Edwards, Holmes, Cotchery and Keller were and great group for the red zone last year. The problem in the red zone has really been play calling and having a young QB. Whether the play calling is conservative because of Sanchez being so young I can't tell you. Plax may be an upgrade in the red zone, but Braylon Edwards was no stiff.

I know that Edwards was no stiff, but he had questionable hands. He drops easy catches, and makes highlight reel ones. Guy was great for us, but it was frustrating knowing that he could be better.

And I agree that the play calling was garbage thanks to Schotty. Really wish that they would have let him go in the offseason

Hayden won't work out for NYG, likely cuz they're looking to pay vet min only supposedly.

My biggest beef with Gilbride is that he cant effing adapt. EVERYONE blames Plax for us sucking after he shot himself but Gilbride couldn't do anything to change-up the O. The offense was too dependent on Plax drawing coverage.

Now we have a team that seems fairly strong at wr(not all stars but I'd say 3,4,&5 are all better than average) & we seem to have useless TEs. Combine that with the fact that Eli is generally better in the shotgun & I think we should have a bit more wide open scheme to take the best advantage of our players.

Look at the Pats! They were run oriented, then spread, & now a lot of two TE formations. They adapt.

Here is my take on the Jets 53 after 2 games, let me hear some thoughts, changes, or anything I may have missed Jets fans.

QB: Sanchez, Brunell, McElroy (3)
RB/FB: Greene, Tomlinson, McKnight, Powell, Conner (5)
WR: Holmes, Burress, Mason, Kerley, Turner, Payne (6)
TE: Keller, Mulligan, Cumberland (3)
OL: Mangold, Ferguson, Moore, Hunter, Slauson, Turner, Ducasse, Kroul, Felix (9)

DL: DeVito, Pitoitua, Wilkerson, Dixon, Ellis, Pouha, Tevaseu, (7)
LB: Harris, Mauga, Pace, Scott, Westerman, Thomas, Maybin, Satele (8)
S: Leonhard, Lowery, Pool, Smith (4)
CB: Cole, Cromartie, Revis, Strickland, Wilson (5)

K: Folk (1)
P: Conley (1)
LS: Purdum (1)

I was just using roster players, but think Mr. T will be looking at waivers for o-line depth when other teams cut down, went with Folk because I think if they are even they go with Folk. Punter seems to be going toward Conley, but could see an outside punter coming in, maybe who the Giants cut. I had two spots left and went with Satele and Payne with Emanuel Cook and Jarron Gilbert just missing the cut for me.

From the outside looking in I'd think you'd keep more LBs than 6 for a 3-4 D.

You have to. At least 7LBs.

He is. He has Maybin listed at DL but he's a LB in the 3-4.

They'll also probably keep either Mauga or Bellore.

Have Mauga as a LB listed, wasn't Maybin blitzing off the end at the end of the game? I can move him to LB, but just thought they had him blitzing off the end. I'm actually taking Gilbert out, and putting in Satele as the last LB, and last spot on the team.

Moved Maybin to LB so now have 8, looks better now.

Whoops, totally missed Mauga.

They did have Maybin blizting off the end, but in the 3-4 that's an OLB. He's undersized as is for a 3-4 OLB, if he played DE he would be eaten alive regardless of talent.

I think we may see Hunter go on IR and someone else be signed to replace him. As you said though, you're just going off roster players and who knows who we'll add.

I also think we'll only keep one of Tevaseu or Gilbert. Honestly, I'd prefer Tevaseu. Everyone is still waiting for Gilbert's "potential" to materialize, and it ain't happening. Tevaseu is more suited to line up and be successful in the 2-gap.

Which obviously leaves one spot open for...Bellore? Satele or McIntyre? I'm not sure. I think we'll have 8 LB though.

Otherwise, looks pretty good. A team I can be very confident in. Strength at every layer.

Total brain fart by me lol, I moved him to LB, and added Satele so have the LB depth now.

Austin out, drafting Joseph suddenly becomes big for the Giants.

3 DT's on game day; Canty, Joseph, Bernard, others inactive.

Tuck will play DT on 3rd and longs with Kiwanuka and JPP playing DE. Canty is going to have to play pretty much every down.

Dime 3rd+long...

----------JPP-Canty-Tuck-Kiwanuka---------------

Webster--Grant---Boley-----Sheppard----Ross
-----------Phillips----------Rolle-------------

Standard 4-3-2-2

----------JPP-Canty-Joseph/Bernard---Tuck
Webster-----Boley-Goff-Kiwanuka-----Ross
-----------Phillips/Grant----Rolle----------

I won't be mentioning Rex much this year, but with the upcoming game...

If the Jets win, will Rex Ryan gloat about the game? Should be interesting to see.

All I care about for this Saturday is no injuries to either team. Especially the Giants. We can't lose anyone else.

I agree, I just want a good game with no injuries. And I am sure Rex would say something because well he is Rex

Two minor Jets moves: claimed G Nevin McCaskill on waivers from Pittsburgh, and signed UDFA S Tracy Wilson.

McCaskill is likely the depth lineman for us as Rex and Co. have indicated they're mostly happy with their current situation. Doesn't sound as if they have any intention of adding a bigger name player, so this is probably it.

Wilson was a good player for Northern Illinois but battled injuries. He had entered the supplemental draft, but obviously wasn't picked. The book on him is that he's a ball hawk and a good tackler. We'll see.

Giants held try-outs for CBs today. Lito Sheppard, Dre Bly, Brian Williams, and an unknown 4th CB tried out today. Brian Williams was signed to a deal, probably for the league minimum. Never heard of him. 9 year vet, last team he played for was the Falcons.

You guys had to expect this. Plaxico just started playing football again after rotting in jail for 2 years. I know he came out in good shape physically, but exercise alone is not enough to prepare someone for the rigors of an NFL season, with all the physical punishment and body contortions. Just hope he gets all these nagging injuries out of his system now and isn't plagued the entire season.

Just let Plax rest up. No need for him to injure himself in the preseason.
